If you want a fun loving sexy cowboy for Christmas then look no further than Justin, as it says above he is hot, determined and helpless when it comes to bunny slippers. Another great novella from Lissa Mathews with characters who make you care for them and I really liked it. Loved Justin, he was keen and rough and loveable; I loved how Ella's concerns reflect those of a lot of people and the fact the age difference was there but not a big deal. I liked the characters so much I invested in their story, wanted them to succeed and I really liked the ending.

What we do get in this novella is an insight into the climax of their relationship, will it work or break down. After meeting in a bar and chatting online as well as the odd weekend away Ella is pulling away and Justin wants more, when we first meet them he is on her doorstep and telling her how he feels and what he wants. The Ultimatum moment. It is tense and sexy and I would have ran to his truck had it been me in that hallway!

Justin is a really complex character and that comes out in their discussion about her need for hard quick sex, straight to the main course by pass starters and who needs desert? Yet he keeps up with the slow loving and is very thorough with it. Ella seems confident yet a bit damaged, she puts on a cloak of clothing and make up and becomes her job when she is there, but in relationships she is scared, of being hurt, being alone, being led down the garden path; and I think a lot of women will equate to that emotion after a relationship or marriage just fades and turns to friendship.

She is kinky but a conformist. He likes PDA and is kiny too, that friction makes them interesting.

The whole thing about him not being circumcised made me giggle too. From a non American point of view it is really interesting as most men in Northern Europe aren't, however I know most in USA are. So that was fun and interesting.

What I want to know is will there be a future book about his brother or friends?

I hope so!

Oh and the sex was hot. with a capital Hot! *wink*

Ok lets start with whether or not I liked it, I DID! In fact I liked it so much I have already been online and ordered the next book Lethal Rider, yup I am an addict and I know I have a problem, so why did I like it so much?

There are a few reasons, firstly the characters- not only are they well developed but if you have been reading this series from the start of the demonica books you know them inside out, yet Ione still manages to surprise you with secrets, secrets which keep you guessing and wondering, some which are revealed in the story and some which are dangled over your head and happily skip in front of you and all the way to the next novel. Arik and Limos do take centre stage in the novel but it does focus on all of the horseman and we do get to know Thanatos quite intimately which, I have to say, I loved! Limos is a great contradiction, fierce and girly rolled into one and unsure of herself and what she wants. In the meantime Arik knows exactly what he wants, Limos, and as a result is in quite a predicament, but throughout it all he is strong and passionate and protective and we just love him for it.

Whilst this is Limos' book it is in my opinion the second journal of the horsemen charting the development in all of their stories and this is another reason why I like it. Ares and Cara are not relegated to simple referencing, they are active in the story, the other horsemen are not simply side characters again they are active and have their own agendas and themes. Please do not let this put you off, the stories are cleverly entwined and support the over all meaning.

All of this sets you up for an exciting ending and a headlong rush straight into the arms of your book pimp where you order the next one. Trust me, you will like it!

I know, I am rambling, but those of you who read my reviews should be used to this by now! So bottom line, great characters, Limos and Arik are the stars and they make a great couple, he is growly and protective she is girly and fierce and kicks ass! Both their lives are uber complicated and get even more so, hidden secrets and evil fiances! All your favourite friends are their and the back story is set up for the next novel. I managed to read it in 2 days with a terrible cold- for me that is an achievement as normally I can't concentrate, but on this I could, I wanted too, I needed too! Another great read from Larissa Ione! I was lucky enough to meet her at AAD last year and trust me, she is one of the nicest people.

I give Immortal Rider 5 frillies out of 5, a great read, and whilst you could read it as a standalone quite easily (it would make sense) a knowledge of the other books would help to bring out some of the subtle plot nuances. And did I mention it is HOT? Especially Thanatos! *wink*

The Hunter by Theresa Meyers. I was given the ARC of this book whilst I was at AAD this year, it was one of the ones shipped to me, so you can imagine they took a little longer to get to the UK, but get here they did and whilst I was packing for my holiday to Spain I made sure this went into my bag. A western steampunk circling round the lives of three brothers, I was intrigued! This was book 1 and following the story of the younger brother Colt.

I love westerns, I always have, I think I get it from my dad and sunday afternoons watching Bonanza (starts singing tune... Du du du dud ud...and pretends to be riding a horse) I love steampunk, so cowboys and steampunk... I was sold! I just hoped the book was as great as the premise.

DRUM ROLL!

And it was!! It is a GREAT BOOK!! I could have happily turned to the next instalment and carry on reading.

I do recommend that if you are looking for a new series or something just a little bit different the give this a try. The characters are captivating and garner our emotions and trust almost immediately. Colt starts this quite like your stereotypical cowboy but from the outset you know there is something different about him, an emerald surrounded by cut glass, his honesty and strength shine through. But he has never met anyone like Lilly.

Lilly I liked from the beginning. She was cute and funny and had purpose. someone with a hard life and a difficult background she made choices which allowed her to change her circumstances. I cheered her on from the beginning! Colt truly has never met anyone like her before and she makes a lasting impression, one which raises his blood pressure and makes him feel thongs he has never felt for a woman before. Her quick wit and refusal to just accept her gender role make her an engaging character who we want to see more of.

And yes they are hot for each other *nudge nudge wink wink* not in an I am always gonna try and get into your pants way, but in a sexy desperate and romantic way. So if you fancy a little spicy sausage stay tuned to this book.

The side characters are great too, particularly Colt's brothers and the scientific brains- Murphy. His brothers HEAs are possibly introduced in the book and you are eager to see where their journeys take them in their concurrent tales.

A great read, full of passion, romance, fantasy and steampunk. I give The Hunter 5 frillies out of 5 and I hope you all run out and buy a copy or someone takes pity on me and sends the next one. If you like cowboys, steampunk and supernatural, trust me you'll love it!

How could I resist? Pride and Prejudice and Dorian Grey are two of my favourite classic tales (The Literary Cannon has its uses! hehehee) However when I was given this ARC I was not the first member of my family to read it! Minxy Mummy said that looks good and snaffled it out from under my nose and took it home! I had to go and steal it back from her. I did allow her to read it though, because I am nice like that, and she thought it was ' really good' which is Mum language for I loved it. Which is good, because I finished it this morning and I agree, I loved it!

It is great and a unique idea, a young girl to save a man trapped in a painting and love blossoms, add to that supernatural beliefs of different nations, demons and spirits and I am sold! The characters are well crafted and believable, Natalie is sincere and innocent and we watch her grow as a person as the novel develops, she becomes a heroine in the true sense of the word, battling evil whist shaking in her boots but refusing to give in. Danbury is gallant and a gentleman, but with a passionate edge that shows you he would be an interesting man to know. In some sense he is a man led by his passions, but one who had learned that to follow blindly will lead to disaster. Now he has a passion for Natalie, and his freedom.

The supporting characters are equally intriguing, particularly Mrs Northe and her niece Maggie. I am wondering how they will develop in future novels, some lovely teasers were dropped into this book, I want to know more about Mr Bentrop, why was he in Egypt, why did he want the painting so much? I could be way off the mark, but I do want to know more. I do love it when a story is resolved but leaves the reader wondering and further questions. To me that is the sign of a great read.

I don't read and recommend much YA, but I do recommend this, why? Firstly is is great and well written with believable characters which give an insight into to the supernatural superstitions of Victoriana, secondly because the appeal is generational, from 12 to 92. Lets put it this way Minxy Mummy is in her 60s and she loved it. I loved it. I hope everybody loves it.

Ok, ramble time usually means I need to finish this off, so here goes, Darker Still is a great read by a talented author and I hope it becomes a modern classic! There, I said it. I hope all who read the book, enjoy it as much as I did. I give it 5 frillies out of 5!

I do love me a Cat and Bones books, and this is a great Cat and Bones book, plot driven rather thn relationship driven this one takes on a wild ride through their lives, giving snippets of things to come and a fantastic battle against ghosts. We meet old friends, make new friends, have the blindfold whipped off our face when we are tricked and smile when Cat and Bones make time for each other.

For me this is one of the best in the series (and again, if you have not read any of the others you could read this as a stand alone) Cat and Bones are asked to help Elizabeth, a ghost friend of Fabian, rid the world of Heinrich Kramer. Kramer tried her for a wicth and killer her and even though he is dead, he is still doing it, Elizabeth has tried for years to stop him, but can not. Cat and Bones agree to help, but this is only one story in the book, the other involves Don and a new character Madigan. Madigan is well known to Don, but there are secrets about their past together which Don seems unwilling to share. With Don haunting Madigan at the compaound we hear snippets of what is probably a plot to come and it is an intriguing plot!

Cat and Bones are a sexy as ever, passion and turmoil seems to swirl around them but they make it look good! The plot is tight and intriguing, we have new side characters, Tyler (a medium) in particular who is creative and extremely funny, especially when discussing sexy vampires. But for me it is Ian who steals the show in some sense as he does get the best lines, it also allows us to try and get to know him better. I do love how Bones, Spade and Ian interact with each other, a friendship and loyalty which transends personalities, very much like family.

I realise I am rambling now, but I truly do not want to spoil someones joy of watching the story unfold and figuring out the secrets, or laughing out loud and one of the many oneliners.

A great read! Engaging and exciting. I give it 4.5 frillies out of 5.

Part of the Guild Hunter series but if you have never read any before this novel is easily read as a stand alone, and trust me it is worth reading! Dmitri, Dmitri, Dmitri.... I want a Dmitri! Actually if I had we would fight a lot because I can be downright awkward but I believe the making up would be worth it! As you can tell I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have enjoyed the whole series and liked Dmitri from the beginning, it was his sarcasm and protective nature which drew me and the sexy and dangerous exterior just made him a multifaceted character I wanted to know more about. In Archangel's Blade Dmitri is laid bare for all to see and his is a wonderful tale of loss, violence, hardship, passion, protection and a love that defies the rules.

Honor is a great character and a reflection of Dmitri, if that makes sense. Dmitri appears to be strong but as the novel goes on we realise the secret he hides and how emotionally fractured he can be, Honor appears to be fractured but inside we find she had a core of iron which has held strong through all the hardship and abuse she has endured. They fit, perfectly, and whilst Dmitri is instantly attracted Honor wants nothing to do with him, or any vampire. One of my favourite scenes is when he tells her to look at a painting to see what his type of women is, when she looks it up and sees the woman, she may as well be looking in the mirror. It is a fantastic scene.

A great multi layers story from Singh, on one level you have the action plot of who is murdering the vampires, beneath that you have the mystery plot of who kidnapped Honor, under that you have the plot of who is honor, and layered between all of them, linking and surrounding all the themes is the growing relationship between Honor and Dmitri. Meeting up again Holly Chang who was kidnapped in the first novel allowed us to see what was going on and how she may develop for future novels, meeting Honor also allowed us to meet more of the hunters, Ashwini in particular and I am keen to see how they both develop as characters. Of course Raphael and Elena both feature in the book, as do Bluebell and Venom so no fear about missing your favourite characters.

This is a fast paced book which grabs and holds your attention until the end, for me, definitely a keeper. Yes you do kinda figure out the connection between Dmitri and Honor, but I believe we are supposed to and the knowledge only makes us understand the power of true love.

A great read I give 5 frilly knickers to.

Yes you heard right, Zombies, now before I go any further I would like to state that I have a 'thing' about Zombies, and I don't mean in an aren't they great way. This is the fault of my uncle who showed me, my brother and cousin Dawn of the Dead- I was about 10! Never been the same about Zombies since, they loved them, me.... terrified! It took until I was in my 20s for me to watch Day of the Dead, but I have been getting over it and did read Pride, Prejudice and Zombies. So if me, a zombie worrier liked it, it must be good, mustn't it? Well I DID like it and it is a very good book. It has enough charm to warm and cheer the most avid adult reader and enough angst to thrill the YA reader and perhaps make them forget all about sparkly vampires, at least for a while.

If you are a Zombie lover there are the traditional thriller flesh eating decaying walking dead zombies, but there are also the Zombies who are suffering from 'The Laz' or Lazarus syndrome, when they 'died' they reanimated quickly and came back as themselves, personality and morality intact. This dichotomy creates an interesting development in the story arc, you have your traditional battle between different factions (The Punks and New Victorians, the good and bad Zombies, the humans and all zombies) but it also allows the story to twist and turn in intricate ways. And it is a story with a twist, one that makes you think, concentrate and question.

It is a complicated tale, but it is written in a way which allows you to see the full picture. Each chapter is written in the first person, but each chapter is written in a different voice: the chapter headers telling you who is narrating the chapter. Now don't run away screaming, this is a really interesting way of giving the omniscient narrative point of view and it works well, creating sympathy for the characters and a pacy novel.

The characters are endearing, Nora and Bram in particular, but the supporting characters measure up too, they are amusing, forthright and brave. I don't want to say too much because I would hate to spoil the book for anyone. Nora (Dearly- hence the title) is intelligent, brave and ladylike, something which is shown in great contrast when she comes in contact with the zombies, but she also holds a secret, a secret that she doesn't know. Bram is tall, athletic, sensitive and alpha, and for a zombie, sexy. They are drawn to each other from the beginning but as the relationship develops they are faced with the obvious problem of where it can go, are I really enjoyed where Habel took the story. The steampunk backdrop is perfect for the content of the novel, a mix of new technology, steam and Victoriana. One of my favourite scenes shows you just what damage you can do with a parasol!

The ending suggests that there will be future books and I am really interested where this tale will go. An interesting and enjoyable read I give 4.5 frillies to. Definitely one to watch out for.

Not having invested in the Weddings from Hell anthology I was pleased to see that this individual title appeared as an E book on the kindle, I am a sony owner but I didn't let that phase me and simply downloaded kindle for the PC which works GREAT on a netbook. It was only 99p think it sells for $1.99 for those in the USA. Is it worth 99p? ABSOLUTELY

For those of you wanting Bones and Cat, you won't get that, you will get a guest appearance by Bones but you do get an enjoyable short which widens the scope of and our knowledge of the peripheral characters in Bones and Cat's life.

In this we meet Chance, now head of his own line but sired by Bones and when requested he goes all out to help a former 'doner/lover/friend' of Bones, no not Isa but her Grandmother Greta. Chance is your typical charming vamp, gorgeous with a touch of arrogance and no qualms about running about naked. Isa is feisty but trapped into a situation where she can see no way out. Why? Because this situation is not of her making, she is a pawn being used and manipulated, why is she going along with it? To keep her family safe.

You need a quickie little fix of the Night Huntress World then this could be for you, the relationship between Chance and Isa is fun, sometimes funny and certainly full of passion. I recommend this quickie whole heartedly and give it 4 frillies out of 5.

One of the first people I met at AAD was Nicole Peeler and I didn't even know it, I was nervous and chatting away unknowing that I was talking to an author whose book I'd wanted to read for ages and then I looked in my swag bag and there it was! SQUEEEE!

It is true I have been wanting to read this book since I saw across twitter and bloggerverse how much people were enjoying it and when I got a copy it went straight to the top of the pile. I read it sat mostly in Philadelphia airport waiting for a delayed plane and the rest sat round a pool in Las Vegas and I loved it! (FYI if you read books round the pool in Vegas be careful, the glue starts to melt! Don't worry, both mine are safe)

I was totally invested in Jane's world when I read this, you knew from the start she was different and whilst the book introduced her life and friends you were waiting for the supernatural reality to hit, and hit it did, with a BANG! Jane is an intriguing character, quiet and shy because of her past but you know there is a light waiting to shine and those who love her know this. Don't be mistaken and think just because she is quiet she is a wimp, she isn't and when she is given a chance to get what she needs/wants she grabs it with both hands. Much to Ryu's delight.

Ryu is fun, a vamp with a hinted at past, gorgeous and hypnotic, his interest in Jane is not purely professional but we do sense that as much as he cares for her there is something else happening. Not between them, don't get me wrong, just in general, will Ryu be Mr Right or Mr Right now I do not know. But I do know he will defend Jane as best he can from those out to kill her because layered over this paranormal/urban fantasy romance is a good thriller, a who dunnit! Who is out to kill Jane and why? And I quite like the whole will it last forever quandry, it is like life!

Ryu is not her only help, she finds out her best friend is also supernatural and that there are a lot of supernatural beings who live near her under the protection of Nell the Gnome. But it is character Anyan who intrigues me and I wonder what his involvement will be in future books.

A great book which developed a new supernatural world for me, one I want to throw myself into completely, soon as I get back I will be getting book 2! I give Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler 4.5 frillies out of 5.

When I started to read this I did not realise it was book 2 in a series, not that it bothers me, I am not the type of person who must start at the beginning and work their way through, if you are, be aware this is book 2. Book 1 is Seduced by Shadows and it looks really good. Could Forged of Shadows stand alone as a book, absolutely and I will say this now, loud and clear, I liked it! There you go, no waiting till the end to find out what I thought... I liked it. Would I have liked it more had I read the first book? I can't answer that, I think having prior knowledge of events would have helped me flesh out some of the scenes more, but this did not mar my understanding.

This is a good book in my opinion, why? It has the ingredients I like in Sci Fi or Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance or... *insert own term here* it is complicated with characters who embrace their complexities and push the boundaries of their story arc striving for more, for love, life a better existence. It is a book about hope, and how love can free you so hope can find you.

The main characters are Liam and Jilly: Liam, a 200 year old former Irish blacksmith who survived the famine but who became possessed by a repentant demon to become a warrior to fight evil and ultimately to lead his motley band of warriors. If you like your heroes lean, tall, mysterious and devilishly good looking (including facial markings) then Liam is the man for you. He takes his role as leader very seriously, determined to do a good job and slay evil with his hammer. When Jilly is thrown into the mix he doubts himself, wondering where this new path will take him, she is irreverent and exasperating and totally a match for him. When they meet explosions happen, physically, literally and metaphorically.

Jilly doesn't suffer fools gladly and after a difficult life and working as a social worker (youth worker) with street kids she has developed a thick skin, a wall about her emotions. She felt she couldn't 'save' her own family so she is trying to save others. Where Liam is the dark and the shadows Jilly is the fire and the speed, rushing in full force and learning as she goes. They truly compliment each other and through many trials develop their relationship. Jilly is a great female character endearing yet forceful and someone you come to care about.

The secondary characters are very interesting too, Archer and Sera who were the protagonists in the first story, and in particular the baddie Blackbird. I don't want to say too much and spoil anyone's reading. I was lucky enough to meet Jessa Slade after a blogger panel at AAD and she gave me book 3! I shall be starting it soon.

On the whole this is a complicated tale, full of intrigue, stick with it and it will take you on a fantastic journey. A great read, I give it 4 frilly knickers out 5.

I came across this book as I was wandering through Waterstones, being glared at by my Mum (who already thinks I buy far too many books) and saw this on the top shelf as a recommended read and a little review from one of the employees. Being a cover whore I thought, oooooo, ok then, and I gave it a shot. I am so pleased I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lee Carroll is the writing combo of Carol Goodman and her husband Lee Slonimsky, I had not read any of their books before but I will definitely be looking into reading more of it.

A new urban fantasy series which mixes vampires and the fae and heaps on top of that romance through the ages and unrequited love, Black Swan Rising is the story of Garet James, a watchtower and Will Hughes. In the beginning of the book Garet believes she is a simple gallery owner and jewellery designer, however after a really bad day- bank calling in loan- Garet accepts a strange commission to open a silver box with the same swan insignia as the the signet ring her mother gave her. This section is really fast paced, you are pulled into the drama, you are wondering what is going to happen next, suspending disbelief as her world gets weirder and weirder (and you will have to take a leap of faith with this book, vampires, demons alchemists and fairies? But trust me it works and after all shouldn't a fantasy book take us on a bizarre fantastical journey?)

Garet is an interesting character who throws herself into the world she discovers, admittedly she doesn't have much choice, but with her power building she discovers exactly what she can do. Her supporting cast is really well thought out too, her father and his old artist friend, her best friends who form part of a band, the police detective investigating the break in at her gallery and the fae she meets. It is the relationship with her family and friends which keeps her grounded throughout, even when she misreads the signals and we the reader are screaming at her telling her she has picked he wrong one. Can't say more on that as I might spoil it, but yes, I screamed at the book!

Add to this sexy Will Hughes, vampire, but a vampire who seems to find her in every incarnation, a vampire who professes to love her, one who is tied to her and one who is as sexy as hell. Is he good, is he evil? He is a man and a vampire and like the rest of us he is sometimes in this for himself and that is something Garet has to face, but not all his lost and there is hope in the end. He is an intriguing character and I can totally see why she is fascinated by him. The only down side, sex between them is referred to and skipped over. I am not saying I want full on erotic description, I don't think it would fit with the rest of the book, but a little description of the emotions that she felt would have helped e. But please don't let this put you off, it is a passing remark.

Garet with the help of Will and Obie Smith (I'll not spoil it by telling you who he is) must battle John Dee evil Elizabethan alchemist who wants to bring despair and discord to the world, the book is Garet's journey of discovery and a race to find the truth as she battles Dee and his forces, but each battle brings more questions, each answer a new secret. Where will it all end up? Read it and find out.

Can't wait for part 2 The Watchtower. A great new read, I just wish more people new about it so I could talk about it, because writing this without giving away the plot was so difficult, this is attempt 3 and it is still not perfect, so I leave you with this thought.... 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5! Don't you just love a book with secrets? Well this series by Maya Banks is a well kept secret that I am about to blow the whistle on because I LOVED it! I did, I truly did. I know it is fairly new and I ordered the first 2 together to see what they were like but the minute I finished this one I went online and ordered the next, if that is not recommendation enough, I don't know what is. So why did I like them? They are different from each other even though the premise is the same, military (or ex military) brother has to save love from dire straits *hums money for nothing riff.... heheh.... dire straits get it...* OK moving on.. but the books are very different.

Sam is the eldest of the Kelly brothers and takes his roll very seriously, however whilst on a job he meets Sophie and everything goes out of the window and into the bed, after a rather steamy session in the shower he leaves and well leaves Sophie will a part of himself. However Sophie has her own secrets, huge great ones which put her in danger, she resists as long as she can but eventually she is forced to hunt Sam out. Sophie is great, she is strong and relentless and very feminine, she is simply pushed beyond tolerance and lets face it I don't think anything in this world is fiercer than a mother defending her children.

The relationship between Sam and Sophie starts very hot and heavy and then, well trust issues surface and the majority of the book is them trying to resolve their problems, build a relationship, stay alive and keep the family alive. Like with the previous book things are not always what they seem and there is a twist in the tale. It is a really good story which is fast paced and keeps you wanting to turn the page and if it can engage me through many painkillers and cramps it can do almost anything!

If you like strong characters, military men and a mystery with your romance then this book is for you, a great summer read I give No Place to Run 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5 and I can't wait for Garret's book!

I have been a fan of the Dark Hunter series for a very long time, in fact many years ago it was my first foray into the world of the paranormal, well OK I had read fantasy and science fiction for years, but I had never come across paranormal romance before and with Night Pleasures I lapped it up! Went out and got Fantasy Lover and Night Embrace (which were the only other 2 out) and devoured them. I then learned what it was like to stalk the postman! So yes, these books do have a special place in my heart. It is what led me to the Dark Hunter BBS (sadly it is no more sob) created BAM ( Banners Anonymous- founder member) and eventually led me here and to all of you. Throughout all those books (and yes I have read them all) one of my favourite characters was Dev and I was SO excited that he would finally get his own book. But I also went into this with a little trepidation as even though I have enjoyed the recent books I am also aware of how big the DH world now is and in some ways the books have lost the charm of the early books I fell in love with. This tight nit community which looks after their own. But I shouldn't have been scared.

Why?

Perhaps it was because all the old gang was there, perhaps it was because Dev was one of the original characters and I felt I knew him already, but that charm was there and wound throughout the book.

I am not saying the book is perfect, there are still some questions that need answering like does Sam's "thing" not work on him simply because they are mates? Or did I miss something?

But it is a good book and a really engaging read. Dev is sexy and bearlike and human and vulnerable and all the things deep inside that he didn't show, we find out more about his past life and his relationship with his family, his mother in particular and just why family is so important to him, at times your heart will bleed for him. In the past books Dev came across as a bit of a player, well ok a different woman every night and sometimes two at a time (not that I minded I always had a soft spot for him *whispers bear pheromones to Sparklybearsy, Shame and Squire Nomad*) but we find out about the man inside in this book and through that more about his brothers, and I am certain Remi would have liked to keep some of those things secret! heheheheeeeee.

What about Samia? She is Amazonian in the best sense of the word, strong, fearless, brave and happy to put her life on the line for those she cares about, however someone wants her dead, in her final act of revenge she killed those who slaughtered her family, however they were more than they seemed and their brother has waited a long time for revenge and he means to have it.

A gripping story, old friends (the whole gang in there) and an ending which makes you smile, I love you Savitar! I gibe No Mercy 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5, add this to your summer reading list!

This book was a Christmas present my my friend Miss Shame (I got here the Dark Magic books) and I am so pleased she introduced me to the books as I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was in fact different to a lot of the paranormal fantasy/romance (or whatever it is now called) that I normally read. Why? I had never come across an Argonaut before. I know there are lots of books out there which draw on Greek myths and heroes but this was the first I had come across which used the idea of the Argonauts. (I did love the film Jason and the Argonauts when I was little, I know it was old even then, but when you are 6 those stop motion fighting skeletons are scary!)

This book was clearly an introduction into a new world which allowed us to experience more of the wider world as well as following the main plot, the building relationship between Theron and Casey and will she survive the threat on her life. It is a very complicated tale, but at no point did I feel lost or confused. I really like the world and was truly saddened by some of the deaths in it.

What did I love? I love how she saves him and cares for him, how he seems unable to control her, even her unconscious mind when he tries to wipe. I really enjoyed how the story had undercurrents which unfolded as it went on and we find not everything or everyone is what they seem, but there is just enough information so we suspect thereby including us into the secret.

I came to this boo fresh and knowing nothing about it and writing this is really hard because I loved that I knew nothing and therefore I don't want to give anything away to those who have never Read it!

Theron is your typical alpha, hot sexy and broody but he meets his match in Casey who always felt she was somehow different, but she doesn't realise how different, others however do (she works in a really interesting bar) and we find that she has been in part involved in their world for a while, she just doesn't realise that. Casey is strong and smart and funny and dare I say it almost amazonian.

A great read, I am heading to the book store to get the next few! I suggest you do the same, grab yourself a lounger and a drink and sit in the sun and indulge yourself in a great book! Don't forget the fan, when Theron gets going you will need to fan yourself!

It had been a while since I read this series by the time I had the opportunity to pick up Bound to Shadows, I have to thank my friend V for introducing me to this series and first read them when I went to the states (Vegas Baby) to meet some of my girlies (you know who you are! Lets skip down the strip!) Sorry I am easily distracted... back to the book. I read the first 7 back to back and really enjoyed them and you know how it goes other books come out and you eventually get round to the next few and as usual I am late to the party. But that is not always a bad thing and somehow I always seem to get the best seat.

This is a really poignant installment in Riley Jenson's very turbulent life, the more of her stories I read the more I long for her to find some happiness, from the carefree guardian we met in the fist book, Riley has really been through the emotional and relationship ringer, the one constant, her family and Quinn. However her wolf heart wants something else and how do you deal with the fact you don't actually like your wolf soul mate and that your vamp heart wants someone else. Thankfully Quinn seems to be there for her now and is managing to deal with Riley's unusual life however this book focuses more on her relationship with Kye.

But this book is much more than that, it is a brilliant mystery. Not many people know this but I LOVE Sherlock Holmes stories, I have done for years and therefore I love a good and complicated mystery and Bound to Shadows is just that. You are left following the wake off all this murders with no clear solution, creeping up on all the suspects and wondering where the story will take you next. And it is a shock.

A fast paced and engaging boo which makes you want to read on and is so emotive your heart feels for Riley. A great read I give Bound to Shadows 4 frilly knickers out of 5.

Lori doesn't think she will get the opportunity to fulfill her cougar pledge and in someways kinda hopes she doesn't have to, but that hope is dashed when she meets Jackson and all her hope turns to fulfilling her lustful thoughts about him. Jackson is fun and forceful and downright sexy!

I have a couple of the Cougar Challenge books but this is the first one I have managed to read (stupid real life) and I will be getting to the others as soon as I can because I truly enjoyed it, it was a short escape from a lot of outside stress I have had to deal with and it make me smile. OK it made me hot and bothered in a very good way!

It is a short story or novella therefore you can read it in a couple of hours and even though it is short and quick to the action you still get real feel for the characters and their feelings. from that first THUD of attraction when the meet to the realisation that this could go somewhere and that panic that can sometimes go with it. You know the one, do they feel the same.

Grab yourself a copy and get reading, 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5, a definite damp panty read!

Another book recommended to me by Miss Sparkybearsy and I must feed her chocolate for it! This was a case of coming to the series late and being able to read 4 books back to back and I did just that! By the time I got to Micah's book I was chomping at the bit! And I wasn't disappointed, the other books had suggested that Micah's was going to be a little different, that he was hiding something and that he needed more. Angelina is just what he needs, but she knows his secret and he doesn't realise she is what his missing in his life.

There is one problem, someone doesn't want anyone to have her, ever. Will Micah be able to get over his prejudices and save her? Well I will let you find that out for yourself!

A really great erotic read which is HOT and heavy on plot and characterisation, an intricate tale of mystery and lust which will have your gripping the book with white knuckles wanting to know what happens next and all the while trying to handcuff Micah to your bed, ok perhaps that bit is just me!

If you want something to get you all hot and bothered round the round the pool this summer then you can't go wrong with this book, Micah will have parts of you squirmy and tight you will ave to dive in the pool to cool off! I just ordered the next book and I am hoping it will be here soon. A definite damp panty read deserving 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5!

I am going to start this review with a fangirly SQUEEEEEEEEEE! I loved this book, it is true I did I did I did! The Lords of Deliverance I think will be a fabulous edition to the demonica series which gave so many of us pleasure, in some ways I believe it even has the power to surpass the series as the stories are more intriguing and interconnected. And they are definitely interconnected, the usual gang appear and we learn what has been happening to them, but it also takes us down new and darker paths, but don't worry it holds our hand and shows us the way.

We learn a lot about the demon world and the horsemen and it is not always happy ready with the breaking of Pestilence's seal danger and disease is unleashed on the world and the horsemen have to come to terms with the loss of a brother as well as the possibility of Ares becoming war. The story is completely engaging and a real page turner, both the protagonists are multi dimensional and we have a lot to learn about them as they discover themselves as well as each other. We know from the beginning that Cara has a power, but it scares her and she doesn't understand it, as she learns about it we learn about it too, we begin to understand her skittish nature as her life is laid out for our perusal. She may be skittish, but don't be mislead into thinking she is soft, she isn't, still waters run deep.

The new characters we meet, mainly the horsemen are well developed and fully fleshed out which only makes us long for the next novel, and I am longing I am longing! I want the next story now, I do!

Another great read from Larissa Ione, if you haven't read it, you need to, and if you are thinking I must read the Demonica series first, don't worry, this is a new series and whilst the other books and some characters are referenced this has enough content to stand on its own. Grab this and a cocktail and head for the lounger, a fabulous summer read thoroughly deserving of 5 frilly knickers! A HOT summer panty read.

The story covers more than the rescue and we meet the whole Kelly clan as the book introduces us to the KGI world, all of them have to deal with shock and grief, why would anyone do this to Rachel and is this because of something they did. As guilt begins to eat away at Ethan he tries to rebuild hid life, but what is he hiding from us?

My friend Sparklybearsy (I ♥ you Bear for telling me about Maya Banks) introduced me to the books, and I am now addicted, if you are expecting the erotica of the Sweet series or the Colter's don't, I am not saying these books are not HOT they are, but they are also more action packed and if you love a man in uniform they could be the books for you. The Kelly's are an interesting family and Rachel turns out to be a strong heroine, even though she seems fragile on the outside. But to survive what she has been through she needs a core of pure titanium! It is a story about rebuilding a relationship and finding your home and a thoroughly good read, so grab yourself a cuppa, your sunglasses and a copy of the book and head out on the deck and read in the sun. I am onto No Place to Run and I have just ordered Hidden Away and that is just what I intend to do! Happy reading.

Would it be wrong to say I really didn't mind this book? I don't know, but it would be truthful. However I do accept they are not everyone's cup of tea; if you read this expecting The Black Dagger Brotherhood you will be sorely disappointed, but if you look at this as something completely different you may be pleasantly surprised. In many ways I liked Crave much more than Covet, why? Grier Childe, I found the heroine of this one much more compelling and the first part of the story was fast paced and really exciting. We are introduced to Isaac Rothe, former black ops and team mate of Jim's when he is arrested for illegal cage fighting, Grier is his public defender and no stranger to dealing with rough and ready types. As a result she stands up for herself and does not back down. Their attraction is HOT and potentially deadly for both of them as Isaac is AWOL and the target for an assassin. Enter Jim and his angelic sidekicks in shit kickers. Jim needs to save them from the demonic Devina for team heaven, doesn't he?

This really started off as an intriguing read, we find out more and more about the Angels, and just what they have been through at the hands of Devina and what they must do to keep themselves sane. The action is tense and at times exciting. Why only 3 stars, I don't know, the second half for me wasn't as good as the first, I guess it gets a bit busy, if that makes sense, the relationship becomes secondary as the plot takes over and in some ways the sweetness of that complicated relationship gave the book its character. However it wouldn't put me off reading the next book when it comes out.

Give it a go, you might be surprised, but don't expect BDB! I give Crave 3 frilly knickers out of 5.

Another great Immortals After Dark installment, one which returns to my favourite beings, the Valkyrie and and the Berserkers (if you want to know why I love Norse legends go here, I try to explain) there is a lot of overlap time wise in this book and Demon from the Dark, but don't ever let that put you off, we do see some of the same events but from a completely different perspective which only goes to make our understanding of the break out even stronger. I really enjoyed were this story went, and the fact it challenged us the reader to consider our own biases, in the previous book Declan Chase was definitely a bad guy not to be trusted, but i this we learn so much we do feel for him, we understand why he made those choices and even when they were wrong choices we long for him to put them right.

What we have in this are two thoroughly interesting protagonists and I use interesting in the best possible way, we want to know more! and through the flash backs of memory we begin to build up a picture of both their past lives, the longing which goes with it and the disappointment when it goes wrong. We meet some new characters and learn more about some of the established characters, Lothaire and Nix in particular. Nix is as funny as ever and now she has a pet bat whose bottom needs spanking before he returns home. Her words not mine. Nix clearly has a plan in her head and I can't wait to see where she is going to take us.

For me this was a great read and a book about more than just Regin and Declan getting together, it is a book about ascension, controlling who you are and redemption.

I can't wait for the next book. I just hope it is soon! I need some summer reading.

A great read, hot, funny and engaging. I give Dreams of a Dark Warrior 4 frilly knickers out of 5, this should definitely be added to any summer book pile!

I have made it no secret that I think Anya Bast's Dark Magic series is one of the best new series out there. With Shadowfever came the end (for now) of KM Moning's Fae and Anya Bast has filled that gap in my opinion. These books are interesting and a new take on the Fae genre where the Fae are known to the human world, not only do they face their own prejudices, Seelie vs Unseelie but they are imprisoned together in Piefferburg, subjected to monitoring and attack from their enemy the Phaendir all whist being filmed for the reality show Faemous.

It is to me a fascinating take on the traditional myth one which incorporates modern society and its obsession with reality TV.

The first two books were great and this is another fabulous installment. We got to know Kieran a bit more in Cruel Enchantment but in Dark Enchantment we find the softer side behind the gruffness and begin to understand his family history. He is really very unique in the fae world and at times we do wonder if and how he will ever begin to overcome the curse falsely laid upon him. He is gruff and irreverent and downright sexy. His relationship with Charlotte does not get off on the right foot, they have no reason to trust each other and Charlotte is pulled to him through the erotic dreams they shared. Charlotte's family has it's own secrets, secrets which are held even from her and when shown to the light of day threaten everything she has ever known, including her safety.

Both Kieran and Charlotte are likeable characters, you want things to work out, even if the Gods are against them, you feel the heat coming off them and as usual this story as more twists and turns than a monkey puzzle tree. We are reunited with many of the faces from the previous books and throughout it all we again get a more fleshed out vision of the fae world, we also get to meet the Goblins in more detail and learn about their past. When we hear about what happened t the Faemous film crew when they went into the black tower I laughed out loud, in fact this book made me frequently laugh, hold my breath, long for success and grip the book so tight I almost crumpled it! The only down side, I wanted MORE! Selfish of me I know. Naill's book is next and I can't wait for it to come out.

I know this isn't the most indepth of reviews but all I can say is, if you want to take one series on holiday with you, take this, it is the perfect holiday read, it has it all! Trust me! A hot summer read, I give this book 5 frilly knickers out of 5!

He’s just the kind of man she’s never had and definitely the kind she’s always fantasized about. Big, bad and oh so naughty.

Unexpected tenderness. Unimaginable lust. Being dumped has never felt so damn good.

Oh my! OH MY!! I read this before I read The Demon is an Angel and that poor story had to compete with this! I think I had to wipe the drool off binky's screen! (Binky being my sony ereader), it was so good that after I read tDiaA I had to go back and read this again, in fact I want to read the phone scene again in a moment! HOT! That is all I have to say!

But ok I will say more.

The short story begins with Elise in a bar, earlier that day her boyfriend dumped her by text. Elise is surburbia, a suit, smart, practical, hard working, and her boy friends have been the same; with each date almost an interview to see if she is suitable wife and mother material, what would she be like at the country club, the right parties etc. However this last boyfriend had a secret which, when revealed in his text floored Elise and sent her running to the nearest bar: he was going back to his wife.

Vinter is sex on legs, part owner in the bar he sees Elise walk in with something on her mind, a sadness in her eyes and he buys her a drink. Vinter is attracted to her and as he hears her story he gives her an offer, hard, hot, mindless sex to wipe the memory of 'the dumb ass' from her mind. Elise needs something and finally agrees, thinking they will be going to a hotel room for a quickie, but Vinter has other ideas, to take her home and keep her fr the weekend. Which is what he does. He helps her to discover her sexuality, to discover the woman from her youth who she subdued.

I really loved Elise and Vinter, there was a a real care in them and much more hidden beneath the surface, I want a Vinter, if anyone knows where I can find one please let me know! I am quite happy to answer to the name of Elise.... =P I do think she represents many professional women, where because of work you need to project a certain persona, but you are a very different person in your private life. It is the corset beneath the suit. Whereas Vinter was everything she didn't know she needed, but above all he was a man who encouraged her to be herself and loved what he saw.

The sex is steamy, my favourite scene is when he makes her answer the phone to her ex, who won't stop ringing, whilst they are having sex. This also has a hopeful end, which I won't spoil by telling you about. I'd love to read more about Vinter and Elise, you never know, perhaps we wil get another short.... pleeeease!

I give Simple Need 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5. A definite bikini read and a damp panty read wirh pierced knobs on!

This Side of The Grave: Reviewed

Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"—the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

Where do I begin? Again I was lucky with book depository and had this delivered on Saturday (and as those who follow me on Twitter know this to be true), sadly I couldn't get to it until Sunday but get to it I did... and what did I find? A really interesting read which I really enjoyed. Yip I just used 'interesting' but in the way it was originally intended, why? Because it is, we find out a lot as Cat and Bones journey to defeat Apollyon. But they don't do it alone. They usual gang appear throughout the novel which is something I always enjoy, it even made me want to read 'First Drop of Crimson' again!

Is it like the first of the novels, at book 5 I would be surprised if it was, like all good series the novels have evolved with the characters, this story is plot driven and it drags the characters with it, forcing them into difficult situations which makes them develop; it also pays homage to modern cultural references, like Twilight, one of my favourite lines was "Ask me if I sparkle and I’ll kill you where you stand." GENIUS! Made me laugh so hard, which is difficult when I was high on pink pills and battling cramps, did it distract me? YES! It goes on my list of books to read when you need to take your mind off pain. (As an aside don't you just love being a woman!)

A question I have been asked, is it as sexy as the others? Yes, but there isn't the sex you might find in say... chapter 32... does it matter? Absolutely not, perhaps they just twist it up a bit *wink* read it and you will see what I mean! What you see in this book is the real relationship between Cat and Bones and the depth of Cat's love for him, and her realisation of this. Even though she does hope that they continue to break beds, her words not mine. Bones is his usual irreverent and flirtatious self and he show all the qualities that we adore him for, throughout the novel you just want them to succeed, and even though they are already together to live happily ever after. Trust me there are heart wrenching scenes, one in particular near the end which brought tears to my eyes. I would say more, but I would spoil it for everyone.

So what happens? Apollyon, who was referenced before is still claiming Cat will become a ghoul vampire hybrid, and the supernatural world is set for war. Cat is still syphoning powers from whomever she drinks blood from and as usual this leads to trouble! Cat has matured so much from the young girl we first met and that means she is in a better position to deal with these powers, even if it doesn't seem like it as first. She also has matured in her emotions, not just with Bones, but also with others in her life, particularly her family, her mother and Uncle Don. I am particularly interested with were the story with her mother will go.

I know, I am rambling again, I am surprised anyone can follow my reviews but what can I say, I really liked the book, a faced paced, energy pumping, twisting and turning addition to the Frost family. Another great read, I give it 4 frilly knickers out of 5! By the way, it ends with a twist, a big one, that will make you grin like a Chesire cat.

Archangels Consort: The Review

I did enjoy this book, I am not saying it is perfect, but it is thoroughly enjoyable! It picks up not long after Archangels Kiss has finished, and if you are new to the series I would recommend you read the first 2 books in the series before attempting this book; as the synopsis says Elena is back in New York, subject to mortal and immortal speculation. Many people wonder about her, her wings, her archangel and some seek revenge for past wrongs.

The beginning is action packed and fluid, the story builds quickly taking us into the world of the guild hunters and the angels. We revisit some of Elena's friends and get to know them better, we are also introduced to her sisters and stepmother, this meeting uncovers a family secret and it doesn't stop there.

Throughout Elena battles her own inner demons and tries to stay connected to Raphael as his past reaches out to him. Raphael is mean, moody, dominant and sexy. He loves his consort and one of the nicest things for me was the interplay between them, how she stood up to him, all of which hinted at a real relationship and made the characters and their situations seem more real. We meet Raphael's seven again, Bluebell and Dimitri in particular (my faves.... be still my beating heart) and as usual they, along with the rough and ready members of the guild, give the story some spice.

It is a fast paced and intricate story and I do recommend it, however for me the end seemed a little rushed, not disappointing and it left you with questions which is not necessarily a bad thing, just rushed. For me, a little further explanation of a couple of key events would have helped. But it didn't spoil my overall enjoyment. There is more I could say, about events, Raphael's mother, Elena's parents... but I don't want to spoil the story for anyone who hasn't read it.

A good read, thoroughly enjoyable and I can't wait for the next one. I give Archangel's Consort 4 frilly knickers out of 5.

Before I begin I want to say there are NO SPOILERS in this review, (I hope) so, how did this begin and I got the book early? I have no idea, well ok I know the mechanics (and that people wanted to kill me for it *hides*) luckily I ordered mine from Book Depository months ago, I received an email from them saying that they had been granted permission to ship pre orders, presumably because some were going abroad, mine wasn't, and the postman tried to deliver it Friday but I was a work, so Saturday morning off I sped to the postal depo, picked it up and.... tada! I literally was a lucky Minx. I have no special powers, although on Friday when I said that I couldn't control the sun with the click of my fingers and clicked my fingers and the sun went behind a cloud and the kids looked shocked and could read the board.... that was simply luck.... no special powers, honest!

I know, you are wondering when I will stop rambling and get to the book.... NOW! The book is fabulous, not simply a fantastically creative read but also to look at. I know you can see a picture, I know we all know it is THE BOOK, but until you see it in your hand do you see just what it is and what a beautiful book it is, and it is not until you finish the book that you realise the dramatic irony of it. The dust cover of the book is on acetate, clear,and shiny and whilst it is beautiful and a handy waterproof cover for reading in the bath (yes I am a bath reader- don't judge *wink*) I did find the dust jacket an irritation when reading it in general so I took it off.

I think you might have got the message that I loved this book, I did, I really did. I know I ramble, but I don't normally gush over a book like do have this one, the question is why? Because it is good, it really is that simple, I know that all of this is subjective and that some may not like it, but I did. It made me cry, laugh, hold my breath, fear for the characters, thing OMG, think OMFG, think awwww, melt as old friends popped in, become shocked, wonder, think I knew the answer, realise I didn't, think wow, sit with my jaw open, twist and turn, hold my breath, phone for take out as I didn't have time to cook, get dehydrated coz I forgot to drink, become one with the characters and above all it made me hope. That is one of the biggest messages from the book, hope gives you strength.

This is a book I am going to have to read again, it is complicated, an awful lot happens and I think it is a book which would benefit from a re-read, I think I will probably pick up some of the subtleties I missed first time round. The story unsettles you, how? Very simply it takes your hand and starts by leading you down a path you don't want to go down (anyone who read the two chapters online will know exactly what I mean) it then pats your hand and hugs you, allows you into a secret, then rips the rug from under you, twists in another direction and... well you get the idea, but at no point did I find it difficult to follow, I ran full tilt into the book and soared. The book is as fickle and complex as the fae themselves, and I love it for that.

But I will say something about the end, literally the end. if you want to look away now, but I don't think this would spoil it for anyone as it has nothing to do with the plot. As I said earlier the book teaches us the importance of hope, the book ends with this "The End" but on the next page it say "for now..."

I know! HOPE!!!

I give Shadowfever 5 gold plated and diamond encrusted frilly panties out of 5. A brilliant read.

It truly is a case of when two friends really like each other but then manufacture all these different reasons and excuses of why they shouldn't be, or why the other doesn't seem interested and why they should move on etc... Please don't let this put you off, because it is actually one of the things which makes this book so charming, I KNOW people like this. To be honest, I have been that person!

Julie is fun, strong, endearing, frisky (and no I am not talking about me *wink*) Nathan is hot, sexy and hung. Ok there is more to it than that, he is honest and endearing and a little possessive, not to mention caring and completely head over heels in love with Julie. He just doesn't know what to do about it. It is a story of misunderstandings, pride and life. How in a relationship you need to share and to understand the other party. I read this avidly and when I finished went online to buy Micah's book, which hopefully should be here soon! Oh yeah, the sex scenes are HOT.

You want a fun and interesting read then go for the Sweet series. I give this book 4 frilly knickers out of 5, a damp panty read.

Book 2 in the Sweet series by Maya Banks and just as good as the first book, albeit very different. That is one thing I have noticed in this series, each book is individual and stands alone, it is not a formula where it just replays the story that has gone before. The characters may be friends and some may work together but that is all they have in common. Each have individual wants, needs and lives, and for me that means the books are fully fleshed out and intriguing.

The book begins with Serena confessing her sexual fantasy during a girls pampering session, Faith puts her in touch with Damon and the book rolls on from there. With Faith and Gray's book you had the thriller subplot to move the story along, in this Serena and Damon have a romantic story where they fall in love against the back drop of sexual dominance, this allows their relationship to leave the bedroom and grow.

Serena is strong yet feminine, completely likeable, yet it was Damon who stole the show for me, I think it was the longing that we see in his character, the yearning and the need for someone to adore. It could have been so simple to set this up as a simple master slave novel, but it is not that, it explores a relationship without those labels.

I know, I am starting to waffle now so I will make this nice and simple. Great book, I loved it. I give Sweet Persuasion 4 frilly knickers out of 5, a damp panty read.

Yum, yum, yum! Definitely a sweet book, I came to this series from a recommendation from Sparklybearsy (#showingsomebearlove) I'd already read some Banks books, the Colter's series in particular after other blogger recommendations and generally enjoyed them, however Bearsy told me I must read the Sweet series and she was SO right, why? Because I loved them! For me one of the nicest things is being able to read a series back to back if you come late to it, and I was able to do that with this series as I had the first 3 on my TBR pile since the summer. I have book 4 being delivered any day now.

Why did I like them? I think it is because, as the title suggests there is something sweet about them, something that hints of deep and real emotions, the kind that sneak up behind you and whack you over the head with a lead pipe and leave you panting in the bedroom with Colonel Mustard. Ok so there is no lead pipe or Colonel Mustard and I have been playing too much Cluedo over the festive period, but hopefully you will get my rather odd analogy.

They are a fun frisky romp with real emotion and tension.

But first things first and my feelings about Sweet Seduction, the other two will follow over the next two days. There is a real thrill in this book, in the sense of the plot line of a thriller novel woven in with the story of a burgeoning relationship. Gray is strong, sexy, brooding and grieving for his dead partner, he goes to work for Faith's adoptive Father as a way of getting close to his partner's killer. He tries his best not to fall for Faith, but he struggles, when he finds out she wants dominance his fate is sealed and he can hold out no longer. When her life is put in danger he will do everything he can to save her.

Faith is no push over, she is feminine and innocent on the outside, but she knows what she wants and is prepared to go out and get it. This need for something different sends her to The House and has her meeting Damon, this journey also sends Gray's temperature off the scale and the scene where he goes and retrieves her is so hot!

Not only do you have two smouldering main characters but you have a host of well rounded supporting characters all who provide a relevant role, and whose own stories are fleshed out in later novels. Loved it, and if you haven't read them already... do!

For me another great read from Lissa Matthews, I have made no secret about the fact I loved Vinter's book *fans self* and this set me off on a little trek through the next two installments, both of which have left me feeling squirmy and hot under the collar. Why? I don't know, it could be a combination of the kind of coincidences that, in your fantasies, you hope will happen to you, and characters you like. Whilst what happens to them might be a little outside most peoples realities (if only) there is something truly likeable and relatable about the characters. Mandi is a jewellery designer who waitresses in her friends strip bar to pay her bills, she has the hots for her friends brother, and he has the hots for her. Jaz is intimidating and stares at her like he wants to eat her, thankfully with a little manoeuvring from her friends, he is able to do just that.

Jaz introduces Mandi to his world and allows her to embrace her sexuality, he knows just what he wants and is no longer afraid to go and get it. The book also reunites us with Vinter and Dallon, and introduces Jackie and Mac.... I wonder if Jackie and Mac could be the next installment *bats eyelashes hopefully*.

If you want something to get your new year started with a bang, then this could be the book for you, let Jaz and Mandi spice up your life, perhaps it will make you wan to start the year with a little ink.

All I have to say is YUM! Well ok I actually have a lot more to say than that... *wink* I was lucky enough to be given a copy of the book by Lissa Matthews, as you know I have enjoyed a number of her books (mmmm Vinter) one of which was Sweet Caroline; the first in her Blue Jeans and Hard Hats series. I loved Sweet Caroline and I loved Cracklin' Rosie too. I read it on a plane heading to Spain, I am not the worlds greatest traveller, not because of sickness or fear (although landing and take off are not my favourite things to do) I am the one who gets bored! Sat still in a sardine can... books are my salvation! And this one completely transported me somewhere else so I could forget about the two teenage girls sat next to me who were giggling over Edward! Nothing against Twilight, read it- quite enjoyed it, but these teenagers have SO much to learn and hopefully will discover some of the vamp books we all love!

Sorry I got distracted, Cracklin' Rosie, I need to find this town where they all live and move there and get my roof fixed, or fence built or something, I definitely need this kind of handy man and I hear they have friends. The novel is sexy and fun, the characters are interesting and endearing. Rosie is someone who has been self reliant for most of her life but she has a secret, no-one (bar her best friend) knows but Decker is about to fulfill all her fantasies. He is teasing and playful and down right hot! If you want a short story with hard. hot and sexy men, women with a voice and a little kink, then let Cracklin' Rosie into you life.

I really enjoy Lissa Matthews writing style, the mixture of hard and soft and sentiment and humour, all tied up with interesting characters and a kinky cherry on top! Great fun.

I don't think I have hidden the fact that I really enjoyed Of Crimson and Collars and was keen to meet Harley and Bella and see where this series would go, and I wasn't disappointed. There is a different feel to this book, Ben is more established and a father and I think that gives more of a permanency to the novella, and that is in turn crystallised in the form of Harley, who with his more scientific mind was always the more stable of the cousins.

Harley is fun, sexy and irreverent, he knows what he wants and is not afraid of going for it, even if it upsets the applecart. Bella is innocent and worldly all at the same time, taught all the skills of how to please her Satyr but never been pleasured by one, until she is given to Harley. And pleasure her he does. Shunned by the women of his clan she forms a friendship with Mina, a friendship which gives them both pleasure and has the male satyrs around them panting for more and looking for the nearest hard surface.

What I really liked about this book was the fact we got to see more of the inner workings of the Satyr worlds and that the clans are movable, we find out about the Wild Satyrs and we meet Corbin! Corbin has many possibilities and I look forward to learning more about this mysterious and sexy Satyr in the next story.

For those looking for erotica, the sex is hot, frequent and consensual, just enough to keep you purring through the intriguing plot and wondering what Harley will do when he faces a dilemma.

I finished Skin Game a couple of weeks ago and as I said in my review I scuttled off to Amazon Market Place and picked me up a secondhand copy of Skin Tight (I love that place for s/h books!) helps out so much when my book budget is stretched and it is the ultimate recycling! Moving on, I was so keen to get Skin Tight when I found out it was about Mia and Foster, two side characters I fell in love with in Skin Game and I am so pleased I did, because in some ways this book is better than the first.

Why? It has everything you would expect from this series, unique and interesting characters who you manage to relate to, no matter how bizarre their story, tension, a plot full of twists and turns and on top of that sexy scenes which make you fan your self and shout 'woah nellie'. The sexual tension between Mia and Foster crackled and sizzled in Skin Game, but ultimately was unrequited, in this they have a chance to see where it goes, the book also gives us the reason why Kyra (who with Reyes makes a guest appearance) and Foster have the abilities they do. We find out more about their pasts in one sense, which allows them to have a future. It also shows us how much danger they are in and the fact they are not alone in the world.

A great and well thought out series I can't recommend highly enough, if you want a gritty thriller plot with your sexy romance then this is the book and the series for you. I can't wait to meet Zeke in Skin Heat. Roll on January!

I finally catch up with everyone else! Strange but true, I have had this book since July and petted it but was afraid to start it, what if I didn't like it, I saw all the other reviews, most of which raved about the book, yet still I was nervous. Why? Because I have hyped myself up for books I have waited for before and been so disappointed, but with this I should have just swallowed my fear and got down to it because I loved it, it even brought a tear to my eye!

Yes, I loved it, it was a great read, a real page turner which stayed true to the original feelings and ethos of the brotherhood which I fell in love with many years ago when I first read Wrath and then paced until Rhage's book came out. (Mmmmmm I LOVE Rhage)

The book is a really interesting read and very much a dual narrative with chapters narratiing Darius's relationship with both Torhment and Xhex, this helps us to fully understand John Matthew and his future and links to the past. The modern day story is engaging and unpredictable in a good way, face paced and sexy! There are multiple story strands here which are juggled with skill, the obvious being John and Xhex, but also Qhuinn and Blay, Layla and Qhuinn, Saxton and Blay, Qhuinn and Blay and their future, John and Torh, Payne and the Scribe Virgin, Lash and the Omega.... the list goes on, but at no time did I feel like it was all to much. I felt like the book was an enjoyable narrative map which help me excitably by the hand and tugged me down it's dark and winding path, each chapter getting closer and closer to the heart of the brothers.

I was really pleased to see Layla again, I have always liked this character and I am intrigued where her relationship with the brothers will go, I could see her in a very unique relationship. Looking forward to see where all this could go.

In fact, end leaves us with lots of possibilities and I am looking forward to wear they are all going. A great read, sexy, erotic, pacy and full of action, need something to distract you from the thought of going back to work, this is the book for you!

I give Lover Mine 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5, a definite damp panty read which will get you all flustered for brotherhood love!

This book was recommended to me by so many people, so off I typed to book depository ordered me a copy MONTHS ago and added it to my TBR pile. It reached the top this week and I was so pleased it did because I really really enjoyed it. I found the idea of stealing abilities through contact intriguing, I found the characters engaging and the plot a real page turner.

For this story to work we need to care about Kyra and see her as she really is, rather than how her ex fiance painted her, and we do, we invest ourselves in her struggle, believe her struggle and purr when she meets Reyes! Reyes does have a struggle, retain the good name he has struggled to build or kill the woman he is falling for, not much of a choice but a choice he must make and we the reader know the choice we want him to make. Both engaging, believable, genuine characters who are smouldering together, but on top of this we have some great secondary characters which twist the story and push it to new levels. Foster in particular, who exactly is he and what does he want?

If you want a book with thrills, engaging plot, characters you connect to, mystery, action and hot sex then this could be the book for you. I recommend it totally and will be on the look out for the next one!!

And his hands aren't the only thing he is good with... *fans self* ummm yeah, if you liked Simple Need you will probably like this, different settings, different characters and different needs, more D/s with toys but the same charm and a woman in need of a good man, but a man who sees the real her, and not necessarily the man she thinks she needs. That doesn't mean this is the same novel, it truly isn't, but it is another great sexy short from Lissa Matthews.

Caroline is in a position that I think a lot of women face, a relationship which breaks down, for her it is her marriage, the need for a full sex life and her own set of needs which need fulfilling, in the face of her ex remarrying and reappearing now and then. In walks Buck, he knows what Caroline needs having made floggers for her husband, but he wants Caroline for himself, and in the past turned down an offer from her husband as he knew once with her would never be enough. The thing is Caroline wants to leave, just when he has found her and she has opened her self up to him and loving again.

Buck and Caroline are an interesting couple and it is a book very much about Caroline's empowerment and discovering herself and moving on as it is about her and Buck finding the relationship they crave. The book starts in an erotic store, Caroline having already met Buck and him starting to work for her, but neither has acted on their attraction, running into each other in the store gives Buck the impetus to do what he needs to. Have Caroline all to himself.

For those wondering about the sex scenes they are hot and heavy and something to get you hot under the collar or squirming in your seat. At 80 pages it is a perfect lunchtime read, just think about the fantasies you could have that afternoon!

As the match approaches, four lives are entangled and changed forever.

Because the thing about football – the important thing about football – is that it is not just about football.

Probably not what you were expecting from me, but I have always been and will always be a fantasy girl at heart. I fell in love with the disc world many many years ago, *coughmorethanIwouldliketoadmittocough* I think I was still doing my A levels... eeeks! This is book 37 in the series and I liked it. My favourites are the witches, even now Nanny Ogg is dragging out her tin bath, the goat is peeing cheese in anticipation as she starts to sing the wizard's staff has a knob n the end, quickly followed by the hedgehog can never be buggered at all. I love all three of them, with Granny Weatherwax stealing the show. The witches are closely followed by the watch books, Go Corporal Carrot! And can we have a howl for Angua *arrroooooooooooooooo* that does not mean I don't like the wizards, I do, and this is a great vehicle for them.

As well as the usual characters, Ridcully, Stibbons, various chairs, Rincewind, The Librarian, and Vetinari, we are introduced to some new characters as well as some old ones making a guest appearance (Sam Vimes). Glenda is forceful and protective, Nutt is odd and intriguing, Juliet is pretty and pretty useless until she finds her purpose, (that is not my opinion, that is just what it is... Gloria has to give her complete and FULL instructions on how to make a cup of tea) and Trev Likely who is a dribbler in more than one way, why? Because this is a story about football as much as it is about the characters, the disc and Anhk Morpork.

If you have never read a disc world book before, don't be scared, each of them can be read alone, each story unique and whilst characters might pop up in different stories you don't have to know everything about them to enjoy the novel, they are like a comfy armchair hugging you.

I hope this won't be the last book I am not ready to let go of them yet, but I do understand with Pratchett's illness that will come... someday. As the book says, the thing with football is, it's not all about football. It is about the fans, the shove and its impact on our lives. That is covered in this book hand in hand with how we need to bend our preconceptions and not judge.

A great read and possibly my favourite cover for any of the disc world novels, if you want to try one out I can recommend this one, or my favourite 'Lords and Ladies'. I give 'The Unseen Academicals' 4 frilly knickers out of 5. A great and nostalgic read!

Charmed and Deadly: Reviewed

Bronwyn is back...but so is her evil ex-boyfriend. From the author of Charmed & Ready and Charmed & Dangerous.
Bronwyn is used to making enemies-when you dedicate your life to ridding the world of evil magic dudes and dudettes, it can happen. So when she first realizes that an attempted hit on the Prime Minister was really for her, it's just "same spell, different day." But then something about this hex reminds Bronwyn an awful lot of an ex-Jason Gladstone, who was her college sweetheart until he tied her up and tried to drain her of her powers. Talk about a date from hell.

Another installment of the adventures of Bronwyn the witch, it is another great and fast paced book, I read it in a matter of hours, it made me smile, laugh and go aww, everything you need for a summer read and now matter how much I enjoyed it (and I did) I just didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. No idea why.

Bronwyn is her usual feisty self and we meet all of our favourite characters, Dr Sam in particular. There is a rather nice scene of them trying out the new shower some of you might like, *wink* but I am getting distracted. Whilst saving the world Bronwyn feels he magical signature of her ex boyfriend Jason, this is something she should never have felt, after he tried to steal her powers and kill her he was locked up in magic prison by the spook squad. But someone let him out and he has an axe to grind. On top of that her family members and friends are disappearing and she feels drained, are they all connected? Not necessarily.

I did like the book, it was light and fluffy, the diary/journal style allows for Bronwyn to get into mortal danger and then appear 3 days later and tell you what happened, relaxing the reader. But I do feel that in a couple of places it was rushed, her confrontation with Jason is an example, as it actually belongs in a wider story arc. This is a complex plot, with many characters, multiple baddies and multiple plots which weave in and out of each other. All of this is handled really well and you begin to feel Bronwyn pulled in all different directions and the effect it is having on her.

The end of the book suggests there could be another, setting up a new plot, and I hope there will be, although at the moment there seems to be no sign. As I have said before the books are quite hard to get but you can get them second hand. An engaging and magical tale of magic, family, friends and love. What more could you want on a summers day?

One thing which truly appealed to me in this book was the first line of the dedication, "This book is dedicated to all who have been told they are too pretty, too ugly, too skinny, too fat or are judged on the basis of skin color, political leanings or religious beliefs." That actually hooked me in this tale of The Sheriff and the Showgirl!

Lola is friendly, loveable and so much fun, on top of that she loves things which are pink and frilly!!! A Las Vegas 'Pink Flamingo Girl' Lola is sacked when she turns thirty, not only that she discovers that her fiance (a casino owner) was cheating on her and he dumped her. With her friends Lola packs up her pink Caddy and heads out, breaking down on Mesa Blanco and discovering life in a small town isn't quite what she remembered. She grew up in the south, poor but willing to work hard, when her Mum died when she was 19 Lola sold the trailer and headed for Vegas, working jobs to pay for dance lessons until she became a showgirl.

Sam is gruff and all sheriffy and divorced, his wife having left him for better prospects, a city life and a rich husband. As a result Sam has a little chip on his shoulder about it all, but after a rocky start he and Lola finally get it together and make the sheets burn.

What interested me was this idea of prejudice and judgement, he thinks she wants a rich husband, and all she wants is to be loved and doesn't understand why he doesn't call. However when there is a disturbance outside her home Sam comes to the rescue. It is a story about enlightenment and hot sex. A good combination. I really enjoyed this story, more than the first and I am looking forward to Roxy's tale!

Now proper Emily finds herself shockingly addicted to the BDSM games he likes to play, her body craving the bondage and domination that pushes her thermostat past the point of combustion, even as she knows that it’s all going to come crashing down any moment with a big painful thud.

I think most people know about my love of cowboys, so when I saw this and the second book of the Sequins, Saddles and Spurs series, I was intrigued. This is a fun short story, at 95 pages it is a fairly quick read but it does pack a frisky little frolic into it. Even if the ending is rather abrupt. But I will get to that later.

The series focuses on the life changing events surrounding, Emily, Lola and Roxy who leave Vegas under a storm of disillusionment and a severe lack of funds, their pink Cadillac breaks down in a tiny town called Mesa Blanco. They arrive bedraggled and starving with few funds and find that life in a small town might be just what they needed. Particularly after they all meet a cowboy of their own.

Trouble in Cowboy Boots is the story of Emily and Wyatt, having lost her job and condo in Vegas Emily doesn't seem to be having much luck, as a character she is likeable, when Wyatt is 'mean' to her later in the novel we really feel for her and almost rejoice in the physical effect this seems to have on him. Wyatt is intense yet fun, walking that fine balance of boyish charm and brooding hidden depths. He likes to dominate in the bedroom and that is fine by me. He also has his own issues to deal with and eventually he does.

As I said, he does let her down in the story, but then again, that does happen in life and her reaction is perfectly human, as I said, I felt it ended rather abruptly and I think that is perhaps because I wanted it to go on longer. It was a fun and frisky read and totally passed the time when sitting in a hospital waiting room, thanks for ereaders! I liked it and think many of you would too.

Barred by Riko from having sex with her fellow sex demons, she’s forced to suffer the inadequate fumbling of humans, both male and female.

When Delan and Angel meet, sparks fly. She’s defiant and he’s determined, but the lust and hunger hit them both between the eyes and below the belt. Sex is hard and hot, a little kinky and a whole lot naughty. But Delan needs to find something more than sex to rein her in, or she’ll destroy it all.

Definitely a frisky little read, as the synopsis says Angel is half demon and half angel, spawned from a sex demon and an angel of love she becomes something new, something unique: a sex angel! But like many things is this world she requires balance, she has two parts of her personality and she is suppressing the angel. There are various effects from this, one could be her inability to orgasm with mortal men, her frustration with their needs on her and seeing her as a trophy, when we meet her she has just torched one, and his boat. A very unhappy and unstable being who, according to her brother, has the ability to put the balance of the world out of whack and ultimately end it.

The story begins with Delan (former military assassin who was living on the streets, he discusses later his need to hide and blend) being kidnapped by Angel's brother and experiencing weeks of sexual conditioning. When we meet him he is surprisingly accepting of his situation but as he explained what else does he have to live for and his training made him accept whatever conditions where thrown at him, like the reader Riko is surprised by his accepting attitude, but his explanation goes some way to accept it. He is given a task, get Angel to fall for him in one day or die. He has no choice but to accept it.

An interesting short which follows the theme of tortured angst and how these suppressed feelings can trap us. The sex is sexy and there is plenty of it, both Angel and Delan tortured by their past, but for me the star of the story was Riko, he made me laugh. As I said a frisky yet angst ridden short story with an interesting twist at the end and a suggestion that their could be more. I liked it and hope we see more of Riko!

The Swing by Lissa Matthews: Reviewed

Part of Elora's Cave Quickies Series this short story is a sexy little romp looking at the angst between Jethro and Caitlyn. Not only only does Jethro have to cope with his memories of fighting in Afghanistan, his brother dying in his arms after an attack, his injuries, his estrangement from his parents who blame him for his brother joining the army but also the fact that his brother married the woman he loved. His brother knew this, always, and in his final moments he makes Jethro promise to care for her.

Caityn grieved for her husband who she loved, but he wasn't the only man she loved, she fell in love with both of them for very different reasons. Her husband, caring, romantic and loving, Jethro: dark, dangerous and erotic. Coming to terms with her husbands death was difficult, coming to terms with the fact she still loved Jethro was even harder. Knowing that people will gossip she wonders what she should do.

At 54 pages this is a quickie, perfect for that ride on the bus or lunchtime bit of naughtiness! It's an interesting short which explores the emotions and needs of both characters. We find out Jethro is a little kinky and also that Caitlyn is happy to explore that part of her, but it is not easy and not everything runs smoothly. What I liked particularly was that within the 54 pages of the novel you actually get to know Jethro and Caitlyn, this is an erotic novel with substance as well as sex.

I know some of you have been waiting wanting to know what the sex is like, all I am going to say is... if you have a garden or porch swing you will be grabbing your significant other and trying it out! If you, like me don't have a swing, you will be online ordering one!

Eternal Kiss of Darkness: Reviewed

I am in love, it is true, I am in love with Mencheres! Raaaaaawr! The second in Jeaniene Frost's Nighthuntress World Novels, Eternal kiss of Darkness follows the story of Mencheres, Bones' Grandsire and the continuation of his personal struggle after the end of Destines for an Early Grave. Having lost his visions and seeing only darkness Mencheres believes he has nothing left to live for, particularly after his 'estrangement' from Bones and Cat.

Mencheres believes he has nothing to live for, that ennui has set in and brought with it a death wish, for his death. Separating himself from his line and his friends he sets out to settle an old feud. However like this book, life takes a twist and things are not always what they seem, in steps Kira, who in the beginning of the novel interrupts a ghoul attack, a ghoul attack she later finds out he easily could have escaped from, but by doing this she puts herself in mortal danger.

I really liked this book, like First Drop of Crimson, don't expect it to be like a Bones and Cat book, even though they do make an appearance (along with Vlad Tepesh! I hope he and Ian get their own book, if they need a heroine I am available and free =P.) As I said in my review of FDC if you expect that, then you may well be disappointed. This venture into the Nighthuntress World is more engaging than the first, the character of Kira in particular, she is feisty and due to her upbringing very caring and empathetic. She is what Mencheres didn't know he was craving.

What I especially liked was how much we got to know Mencheres, in the other books he seems ancient, because he is, but ancient and cold, aloof from the rest of the world. In this book we see ow much he can feel and how his past has affected him.

A thoroughly good and sexy read (ceiling, shower and being late for a meeting and showing up in a sheet, need I say more, Mencheres popped his 900 year old celibacy cherry with a bang!) A definite requirement for this summer!

Nicholas and Raine -Lords of the Satyr by Elizabeth Amber: Reviewed

These books were recommended to me as having really hot scenes, and they do, but they are not for the faint hearted, why? Because if you haven't heard during the moon calling the Lords of the satyr develop a second pelvic penis for double entry.

I have been asked by a few people how I felt about the books, and I did enjoy the plots, I found the stories interesting, set against the backdrop of historical Tuscany and later Venice, they fit the beliefs of the times, the constraints on women, the expectations of men, and layer on top of that he world of the fae, a world which is in turmoil with the Satyr brothers guarding it's entrance, a world where some of the fae integrate with humans and not always for good reasons. The Satyr brothers have been changed with a task, protect these fae daughters. The brothers are interesting, we obviously meet Nicholas in the first book, he is very much the older brother and seems very controlled and stern, albeit very sexy! But he does have some odd ideas, perhaps odd to us now but for the time it was a common belief. His belief was that a wife was for mating and the production of children. For all other forms of relief he went to his mistresses, or conjured a silverskin. Silverskins are corporeal beings conjured from air elements for satyr sexual purposes, to indulge their darker sides.

Thank fully Jane, his wife, manages to disabuse him of this notion after a few unsatisfying sexual encounters (I was beginning to wonder where is the hot sex!). Jane is not a woman of her time, she is trapped and hiding a secret from her family. She has wings and sees glimpses of the future, unfortunately she did not foresee that her step aunt was evil and through an affair with Jane's widowed father had managed to corrupt the family. To save her younger sister Jane had to get them away from there. So when Nicholas offered marriage she jumped at the chance. Helped by the fact he is wealthy in a time when arranged marriages between wealth families were the norm, she not only got herself a handsome husband and protector, he also got her out of a prospective horrific arranged marriage.

However, once a month a moon rising the Satyr brothers perform a rite, (they have sex in the grotto until they are spent, they don't have to be in the grotto but they like it) they also transform into Satyrs, their legs grow hair and they develop a second penis. Now I am not going to lie to you, the idea of a man with two penises freaked me out at first, I thought how will he manage, how will he pee? Thankfully the pelvic penis (for anal entry) only needs to ejaculate once and then it recedes, well disappears and he is as he was, phew, the idea of a man wandering round with 2 danglies worried me! He also has the seeker which comes out once a month and is tucked up with his balls, this umm appendage seeks out any harm that constant sex for hours might have done to their partners. (On moon rising they need to have sex until dawn therefore the seeker ensures no soreness for their partner! Jane also said it is rather pleasurable!)

If you can manage all of that then this is an interesting plot, with well developed characters and which layers mythological possibilities over a real world historical context. But be warned, it is not as romantic as many would hope and the evil in this book may leave you feeling a little uncomfortable. They are not for everyone.

Ummmm yeah, jury is still kinda out on this one, same premise as before, but this time the heroine is sexually ambiguous. Jordan has been raised as a boy so her mother could maintain the family fortune, and how was this possible, because she has both female and male genitalia. I know in Greek and Roman mythology (which is where most of the satyr myths come from,) they celebrated the uniqueness of the hermaphrodite, but even though I liked Jordan as a character and I liked how she discovered herself as a person, I just didn't like the book as much as the first.

Raine is the brother who didn't want to get married, the brother who had already had a failed first marriage to a 'human' who was spreading rumours about his weird sexuality. Raine is remarkably patient and open minded, but I guess that goes hand in hand with turning into a best once a month.

Again forces are out to kill Jordan, again the brothers need to protect her. We meet Nicholas and Jane and it is interesting to see how their life has developed. This is a series you have to discover on your own,and I am not saying I would never read anymore, because to be honest I want to read the next one just to see where it goes!

I give Raine 2.5 frilly knickers out of 5. Liked the setting, the description and not sure what to make of the rest.

I know, I am on a roll with these double reviews and yes there will be another one along tomorrow! Just making up for my dry spell. Blogging may have been a bit dead, but I will still reading, and I am almost caught up with myself now.... almost!

Today is the day for Maya Banks, I came across these books courtesy for recommendations from a few blogs, but it was mainly the discussions of SusiSunshine and Sparklybearsy which made me head for book depository and my credit card! And I am pleased I did, if you want sexy romps with multiple partners in your books these could be for you.

Firstly Colters' Woman by Maya Banks

There are a few problems, however convincing her she belongs with them and keeping her safe from the man who wants her dead. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, menage a quatre, violence.

I think the book synopsis says everything it needs to about the plot, including the finally line about the menage a quatre, if you are not into multiples then don't go for this book. On the other hand, *stops to fan self* if you have fantasies about multiples, then woooooo hooooo come to momma! OK I have composed myself, I did like the book and I did like the characters, however there was one thing which made me a little wary, Holly was a virgin. I actually don't have a 'thing' about virgins in stories, happens to all of us at some point, and yeah sure for many of us it was a little frantic, a bit awkward and yeah there was some pain, but it wasn't all bad and it certainly felt better next time round! However, one virgin, three men. Don't get me wrong, it was HOT, it was sexy, it was tastefully done, but perhaps it is just me, three danglies in my face might have scared me. Then again I think I might have been a bit younger, but hey ho, on we go. I really should put an adult rating on here so I don't have to refer to things as danglies... my bad.

But that is my only maybe about the book. Truly, I really enjoyed it, the brothers were all cowboys and we know how I feel about cowboys! They were all dominant and growly and yummy and sexy and different. They were three distinct personalities which I loved, the bossy one, the caring one, the tortured one, and they all were what Holly needed, and the fractured facets of her life were what they needed. A match made in a mountain cabin. But this for me was more than a simple erotic novel, it was the level of romance which gave belief that this situation could work, add this to the mystery surrounding Holly and why someone was out to kill her and you are left with a sexy, sexy story which keeps the pages turning.

I enjoyed it so much I danced all the way to the e-book store and purchased Colters' Lady! I also got 3 more Maya Banks books, 2 of which where free! Well one was free, the other was free because I'd made 10 purchases, go me and my book habit! Great fun, for an EROTIC SUMMER READ! I give it 4 frilly knickers out of 5. A damp panty read! You will be needing your fans ladies!

Oh my bring me the fan and the spritising water. This book was so chocked full of male testosterone I wanted to lick it! There I said it I am a bad Minxy. Reggie was a strong female lead, she fought this attraction for most of the book, confused by it even as the men in her life accepted it and came to terms with it. Again three very different men, brothers in life, if not in blood, the organised dominant, the edgy and rough, and the laid back and just downright sexy. She had a man for every mood! And a man who for no discernible reason was trying to kill her.

Another mysterious tale from Maya Banks who skillfully intertwines the thriller with the trills of sexual exploration. If you want a book to get you hot under your frilly bikini as you sun on the beach, go for this. Trust me!

There were five in the bed and the little one said 'roll over, roll over,' so they all rolled over and one fell out, they hit the floor and gave a shout, 'please remember to tie a knot in your pyjamas, single beds are only made for 1, 2, , 4...' There were four in the bed and the little one said.... ME!!! ME!!! ME!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I just had the urge to do that! My first exploration into menage a quatre, and I found it fun and sexy. The characters were distinct, articulate and alive, caring for their community as well as each other, supported by a wealth of fleshed out side characters which gave the story a soul. I Particularly loved a conversation in the police station with Birdie's friend, a little sweet old lady in pearls and gloves who was talking about how good she was with a shot gun!

A great summer erotic read I give Be with Me four frilly knickers out of 5. A definite damp bikini read!

Charmed and Dangerous and Charmed and Ready: Reviewed

Her arsenal includes a combination of potions, spells, explosions, mind-reading tricks, and general butt-kicking skills. But Bronwyn has a soft side, too-especially when it comes to Dr. Sam, the favorite physician of her new hometown, Sweet, Texas. He's smart, funny, adorable, everything she could want in a man. Except he's also a warlock-a big no-no in Bronwyn's book of dating. Being a witch is definitely getting in the way of her sex life. If zapping evil jerks is easy, why is finding a boyfriend so hard?

I know, some of you are going to ask how I came across these books, the simple answer is, I fell in lust with the cover of the Demon King and I, went on Candace Haven's website, got it and the sequel (both of which I really enjoyed and reviewed) and came across the Bronwyn books, loved the titles, thought the synopsis sounded fun and went off to search for them, and search I did. These books (with the exception of Charmed and Ready) were difficult to buy, which is why I love Amazon Market Place, I picked them up second hand and I just ordered book 3 that way.

The sad thing is I don't know why they are hard to get, they are great! I mean it 4+ frilly knickers for both of them! I hope it is because they are being republished because the word needs to spread about Bronwyn! And I am hoping you will all help me.

These are great fun, perfect pool reads, perfect for that rainy day, when you need to get a break from reality with something kick ass, but also tipped with fun and frivolity, and I can't believe I am saying that about a series of books where everyone is trying to kill the heroine, but Candace Havens has worked magic with her words and developed a world where magic and danger and fun are intertwined, add to that sexy men, a love triangle, finding the love of her life, trying to keep him, friends, kick ass friends, kicking ass, politics, princes, demons, warlocks, prime ministers, free Private jets.... I WANT TO BE BRONWYN! Oh did I mention she is a kick ass witch?

Have I whetted your appetite yet?

I was a bit worried about the journal style writing of the book, but after a few pages I understood the need for Bronwyn to share her feelings, it is like we are reading her journal, (yes the book is first person, please don't let that put you off) but it is just like reading any other novel and much less fragmented than say Brigit Jones Diary, (yeah I know I am showing my age, think yourself lucky I didn't say the Secret Diary of Adrian Mole!) I liked the little notations at the beginnings of chapters, I have included an example in the synopsis of Charmed and Ready.

Bronwyn is a kick ass powerful witch who works as a bodyguard for the British Prime Minister, even though she lives in the small Texas town of Sweet. Her job takes her all round the world and she defends him from people trying to do the nasty. However this results in several bounties on her head, when he introduces her to Prince Amir passion flies, but whilst Amir loves Bronwyn, Bronwyn loves Sam, local lad and Doctor in the small town of Sweet. Thing is Sam is a warlock, non practicing, but Bronwyn has issues with warlocks, but she has fallen like a ton of bricks and Sam feels the same, so much so they share dreams, (often involving naked bodies and chocolate sauce.) But someone is out to kill Amir and and Bronwyn must protect him, but this BAD is after her too, and finally th fight is brought to Sweet.

Such a great story, Bronwyn is strong and fearless and so caring of those around her, we as a reader grow to love her and feel hurt when she does, men can really be ...well when she goes on her men are asses rants we nod our heads and agree! The side characters are equally as strong and interesting and help power the story as it twists and turns through the mystery of who is trying to kill Amir and why.

A great summer read, I give it 4 frilly knickers out of 5!

After spending most of my life single (for witches, it's practically an occupational hazard), I finally found someone to love. Okay, so then he got killed, but he's recuperating nicely. And I should be home nursing him--maybe just a little bit naughtily--back to health.
But no. The British prime minister asked if I could look after this rock star buddy of his, Zane. Creepy goth guys in cloaks keep showing up at his concerts and zapping his mojo. Hmm, smells like teen warlock to me. Anyway, I owe the PM, and Zane is fun, too--I mean, what girl wouldn't want to hang with the hottest man in music?
Look, everyone has vices. Right now, I'd like to indulge in one of mine and blow some people up so I can get back to my sweetie in Texas. But if these caped dudes don't show themselves before another paparazzi shot of Zane and me hits the tabloids, I may not have a boyfriend to go home to..

As good as the first! Loved it so much, that when I got to the end, I got online and found myself a book 3! I am not saying that these are the greatest books I have ever read, but I loved them, I loved the fun and sunshine and optimism which is juxtaposed against the danger and demons and death. I mean who wouldn't smile when after almost being killed again Bronwyn voices the thing all girls know, let me set the scene, she almost died, she is not meant to have sex for another 2 days, her boyfriend is there, she is frisky and frustrated, she believes frustration raises her blood pressure more than sex will, he won't so she does what every horny girl would do. Goes goes down on him, and yes it works!

Another great book, one where her relationship with Sam is put under extreme pressure and Brownwyn faces the ignored messages and him in a mood, all things we can relate to! Will she and Sam survive? Will she survive? Someone else is out to kill her, but is it all connected? You will find out if you read the book because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. One of the great additions to this book is the rock star Zane, he is so fun and it also allows to to see more of Bronwyn's demon slayer friend Simone!

Great book, great summer read and another 4, no it made me smile so much I am going to go 4.5 frilly knickers out of 5. Every girl needs a friend like Bronwyn! A huge recommendation on the both for summer reads.

I know, I know, I know, I am SO behind, not just in keeping up with my blog but with keeping up with books! That and visiting my friends blogs, I know, I am sorry, but I am now on holiday and I will try to catch up!!! So here I go with a double review, first of Angel's Blood and then of Archangels kiss. But I need to say... I LOVED THEM BOTH!

I had heard a lot about these books and so many people recommending them to me that I took the plunge and ordered them, and I am so happy I did. Elena is a complex heroine, she is hard and soft, doesn't take fools gladly, knows what she wants and has the capacity to fear and love. A complicated protagonist with an equally complicated past which we discover through tropes as her memories kick in and she releases different parts of the tale through both of the novels.

Team her up the the powerful and sexy Raphael and we have a match made in, well heaven would be too twee, but not far wrong. Their attraction is instant and to Raphael's surprise and Elena's dismay it is on both sides. The relationship is like a hunt, a game of cat and mouse and it is fast paced and exhilarating. Lay on top of that Raphael's protectors, the dark and sexy vampire and the wise cracking and alluring angel Illium, aka Bluebell (I want him!), best friends who will give their lives to protect you, a family who disowned you and an assignment which seems straightforward on paper: track down and help kill an archangel; and we are gifted with a deeply sensual, dark and fascinating story. A new take on angels and vampires and their possible connection.

I can't put into words how much I needed to read this book once I had started it and it was the same for the second book I did NOT want to put it down!

I give Angels' Blood 5 frilly knickers out of 5!! And yes, sex with an archangel is HOT!

Was it as good as the first book? DEFINITELY! I loved it, why? It must be so difficult to create a character like Elena, with so much emotional vulnerability and in some way fragility, but have within her strength, a core of steel which has got her through all the hardships in her life, and then on top of that make her and her life seem relatable to the reader. But that is what Singh does in these books, you are rooting for Elena and Raphael, you accept their world and hope they can do what they can to restore the balance of it. We saw more of Bluebell in this one which is always a winner for me, and met more and more of Raphael's bodyguards, all who have a reason for being loyal to him. Elena's friends again play a pivotal role in her life and I think in that way help her to keep grounded.

I envy Elena being surrounded by so many sexy men!

The story again is full of danger and twists, again how does one battle the unknown? Who is causing the murders and are they linked to the odd invitation and show of power.

A powerful and engaging read I can not recommend highly enough. I want me an archangel!

'To Collar and Keep' is the sequel to 'To Of Crimson and Collars' our introduction to the world of Satyrs, where we met Ben and his intended, Mina, I came across this book after a recommendation by my friend, and fellow Gutter Girl, Sparklybearsy. I reviewed it HERE.

Hi Stella, and Harley, thanks for granting me this interview. So I'd better get down to the questions as I know how busy you both are.

Stella you and Audra write a few different series with the Eververse, WereSnakes, The Elementals, The Djinn and now The Saytrs, how easy is it to slip in and out for different worlds?

Well it depends on who is talking at the time. If one day we are writing the Djinn, and then another character decides they want time... we got to oblige. It just depends on who is the most dominant voice in our heads.

Writing traditionally can be a lonely task; do you think technology has made writing less isolating?

For us, yes. Its brought us together to do things we normally wouldn't be able to do. Stella Price (above)

Where do you get inspiration for your storylines from?

I wish I could tell you! They just kinda show up with the characters... Its all pretty well formed when it reaches us.

I have read and reviewed Entwined by Fate, it is quite different from the other weresnake short stories, more romantic in nature, this entwined with classic thriller elements, will there be more books in this series?

Yes! We plan for 5 all in all for the series. You will see the over arching story come to its resolve too.

How did you come up with the idea for the Saytr books and the Saytr world?

Ben showed up one day and told Aud about it... the story bloomed from there...

Fun! I really enjoyed Ben and his book! I know Of Crimson and Collars has been well received by readers, will we hear more of Ben and Minerva?

Yes! Ben is the man focus of these stories, so hes in all the books, as well as Mina and their son, Jared.

To Collar and Keep is Harley and Arabella's story. What can you tell us about it?

It’s a little more regimented then Bens story, and delves deeper into satyr culture. It also is sexy, and wild and naughty LOL

Sounds like my kinda book! I understand Bradley Cooper (in Hangover) is the model for Harley, but what else can you tell us about him?

Harley is a genius. He's the only child of the reigning head of Rummer and he’s a Satyr that is confident and interesting LOL.

I guess that brings us onto Harley, hi Harely, how are you doing?

I blush as he smiles and takes my hand kissing the top, I'm well Minxy... thanks for having me.

You recently found your cousin Ben, how do you get along?

Ben and I are thick as thieves. Normally with Satyrs there's a lot of posturing about women and their prowess. With Ben and I it’s not like that. We are both comfortable in our places and can enjoy each other’s company without competition.

What's the best thing about being a satyr?

What isn’t to like? I'm smart, rich, women can’t get enough of me... But I guess it would be the fucked up names we get. I mean, Harlequin? Seriously? Though I can’t fault my mother, though I'm happy I got the Harley nick name instead of Quinn...

So what do our readers need to know about you?

I’m not a typical Satyr. I enjoy women and power, but other things drive me and my life.

Can you give us any tidbits from your book....I bat my eyelashes hoping it will work...

Um... Well there's a hidden grotto, some new satyrs from overseas and you get to meet one of the older Satyrs that have stayed out of society for a long time, Corbin.

What can you tell us about your intended, Bella?

I watch as he smiles and licks his lips, she’s delicious. Sexy, smart, wild, and oh so innocent...

Time for some favourite things... what is your favourite, place, film, drink, food and position... the ladies will want to know.

Place... Hmmm.. I like Maui. Film? I like 2001 a space odyssey. Drink: A good cognac is nothing to sniff at. Food, hmmm Im a big fan of Sushi... and positon? *smirks* I would have to say standing, with my female tethered to a ring abover our heads, her eyes covered with a blind fold, and her thighs open as I enter her from behind, and lift her, so she’s holding onto my thighs with her knees. That a good enough visual petal?

Not only do I have the interview for you today, as I said in the beginning... I ahve an exclusive extract courtesy of Stella Price! But first the books synopsis:

Olanis, the summer holiday is is upon the Satyr clans once more and it is the time for Harlequin, prince of the Rummer clan, to claim his first and only female, the Grecian satyr princess Arabella, sight unseen. OK you all ready for the extract... I was a lucky bunny and managed to get a nice long one!

Harley looked out over the placid waters of the lake just over the main building of the hotel and sighed. The moon shone brightly above, coating the grounds and the house in an eerie glow as well as deep shadows. It was peaceful, quiet and serene. Those who were indeed out and about on the grounds of the resort were keeping to themselves and not marring the beauty and tranquillity that surrounded them.

He needed this, this down time. Since they’d arrived at the gates at the bottom of the mountain, it had been one thing after another. From Arturo refusing to chat with him about Bella’s dowry, to entering the hotel and watching Ben getting swamped by requests to meet with him from numerous Satyr clans. They were all trying to incur favour and even a few feral Satyr’s were sniffing about to gain an audience. Neither Ben nor Harley had had much of a chance for anything.

And opportunities to meet with his intended beloved were nil. He did see Minerva and Ben’s brilliant child and joined them for a light repast, catching up on the gossip of the day. His cousin’s Beloved had seen and spoken with his intended, and while Minerva assured him he would not be disappointed, he was still bothered that she had continued to eluded him.

Karina was ensconced in the anteroom of his Tower suite, making herself ready for the opening celebrations the next day. She had made sure his luggage had arrived unmolested, and even put his clothes away and his small trunk. She knew what treasures were locked in there, but also knew the possibility of her ever delving into its depths was slim to none.

No, the treasures residing in the locked parcel were waiting for their new mistress.

Karina understood her place and what would be her future, and she took to it like a duck to water. He knew she would listen to him, to get some rest and be refreshed for her debut tomorrow. She was a good girl and would be a good concubine, but who would receive her? Well, that was the question, wasn’t it?

His father had mentioned that the Regent’s son from Clan Bourchest was in the market for a pet, and Boris wanted to curry favour. Apparently Rummer International had interests in some mineral in the region the Bourchest called home in Romania. So even Karina would be used for the glory of Clan Rummer. Which was fine, everything in this world had a purpose.

His thoughts flittered back to the object of his obsession for the past four years—Princess Arabella.

Minerva said she was comely, and much to his tastes, but not much else. He had been fantasising about her for so long, he was afraid she wouldn’t live up to his expectations, and that was dangerous territory. Of course, he was being paranoid, waiting this long for your promised concubine was like waiting for water when you’re thirsty. It got harder the closer it got to the ceremony time.

He sighed and tried to put his concubine to the back of him mind, with little effort.

The deck he was standing on was cloaked in darkness, and he could see the silhouettes of Adirondack chairs, rocking chairs and a few loungers. It felt wrong that he was on it alone… No, more like he wasn’t actually alone.

When he heard the creak of the side board coming from the stairway leading to the grounds, he realized that his musings were not his and his alone.

“Ben is that you? You seriously have to stop sneaking up on people. It doesn’t become a prince or clan head,” he said quietly to the darkness beyond him. The voice that answered him back made his knees weak.

“And why would you be interested in the Rummer prince, meaning, myself?” he asked and pulled out a cigarette. He lit up, and offered her one. “I must admit I’m equally intrigued as to why a woman with a collar is seeking me out, and she won’t step out of the darkness.”

“Why wouldn’t I be interested in you? You hold yourself in such low regard?” She took the offered cigarette twirling it lightly in the darkness.

“Skirting the question?” He saw her move slightly, and he peeked at the maiden’s collar around her neck, one that had a buckle, not a seam. Harley could have this wench with the throaty voice that made his cock beg to be touched, and no one could stop him. “So you’re not a concubine. Will you be at the fox hunt tomorrow?”

“The hunt? No, I don’t believe so. I’m a little closeted at the moment. Not allowed out to mingle with the others, just in case something accidental happens.”

“So you are a present. Shame. And yet you came to find me, and won’t tell me why?” He smirked and took a drag of his cigarette. “Maybe you are just looking for a good fucking?”

She gasped quietly, and he could see her body tremor slightly. “Maybe I am.“

Harley nearly groaned at her response. If his Arabella was going to be anywhere near as responsive as this chit… “Then come here,” he said in a voice thick with lust.

“I…I can’t,” she stammered breathlessly. “At least I shouldn’t, I could…it would be so easy,” she whispered, struggling with herself, “and satisfying…but I shouldn’t.”

“I would say you are correct…on both counts. You shouldn’t, as you do belong to someone, and I would hate to ruin you for the Satyr that holds your leash.”

“And if you were to hold my leash?”

I reviewed the Demon King and I as a guest blog over at Ramblings of a Book Bitch, you can read it here I said then that this was indeed a case of judging a book by it's cover and it is true. I love the covers of both books and the books inside are just as good! Dragons Prefer Blondes follows the dangerous life of Alex Caruthers, and trust me it is a dangerous life. Recently turning blonde she does indeed discover its appeal when Ginjin proposes. The story is complex with lots of twists and turns, we are introduced to two possible mates for the two remaining Caruthers sisters, an actor for one, and death for the other. Two books that I know I will look forwards to, but I digress.

Evil is again trying to invade the world, this time through the manipulation of dragons who are stealing humans as well as treasure. In her excursions to battle dragons she also discovers a stange safe house in Canada, run by the equally mysterious Mr M, but what secrets is he hiding?

Add the human trafficking, evil taking over, dragon marriage proposals to planning a wedding for her flaky best friend and meeting the love of her life and you have a good book. The thing is, she doesn't know or accept that Jake is the lover of her life... and when she does realise, will it be too late? Everyone seems to want her dead, and they almost succeed!

Alex is funny, brave and thoroughly engaging with a great left hook and a talent for one liners, Jake is strong, manly and sexy with his own set of problems. You can believe in their relationship, how it would work and how the sparks fly. However the romance is part of a larger plot about Alex's survival; if you want lots of sex scenes then be aware, they are few, but hot and towards the end of the book.

A thoroughly fun romantic read which I loved. I give it 4.5 frilly bikini bottoms out of 5 and a Minxy summer read recommendation!

Since I first read 'You Slay Me' I have LOVED the Dragon Sept books, Aisling was hilarious, Drake was brooding and sexy and Jim had all the best lines. The series moved into the books of the Silver Dragons and I followed it, finding I liked the character of May, she brought something new to the books, particularly with her problems with her demon lord and Gabriel's inability to perform foreplay. (You have to read them, trust me, it works.) So when we moved into the novels of the Light Dragons, I moved with them. Whilst the original books are still my favourites I did enjoy Love in the Time of Dragons. I am not saying it is a perfect novel, because it isn't, but I frequently smiled and laughed out loud which is what I want out of a fun book! And trust me I laughed! Why? Various things but mainly because of Jim, why? Because as I said he gets all the best lines, "who do I have to crotch snuffle around here to get some food?"

I'll get to Jim in a little while, I'll start with our main protagonists now, they are Ysolde and Baltic. We have met Baltic before, he has been mentioned since the beginning but in the last novel we discovered he had been reincarnated. The tale is told from the view point of Ysolde, a woman with no memory of being a dragon and who believes she is Tully Sullivan, apprenticed to an Arch-mage with a vacant husband and a son called Brom. We soon discover she is Ysolde, Baltic's mate, resurrected, but she has no memory of this, in fact she has no memory of many things! That is a mystery to be resolved which the books sets off to do. Because of this the book dips in and out of the past as Ysolde relives key moments in her life. This can be confusing, but then Ysolde is confused and she is telling the story, so do what I did and go with it... it all works out!

Baltic is intense, moody, dogmatic or should that me dragonmatic? He is not my favourite of the male heroes in the books, but then he would have a LONG way to eclipse Drake! But I liked him well enough, a 14th century Warlord in the body of a 30 year old dragon certainly can be amusing reading, his ideas on somethings don't quite mesh with Ysolde's and he is obsessed with his belief that she is kinky. She admitted to him, after he told her that his lieutenant likes men, that a fantasy of hers was to watch a little m/m action, I am not saying any more. I know this has already got some of your attention!

The best thing about the book is that fact that all your favourite caharacters are there. Aisling, Drake, Jim, Gabriel, Kostya, May, Cyrene... the list goes on. This gives the book fuel and a familiarity. When Ysolde is having flashbacks we discover more about the septs and the dragons. (Drake and 3 french wenches, need I say more?) I am not saying it is as good as the Aisling and Drake novels, I didn't take to Ysolde and Baltic the same way I took to them, so don't expect that, it is a novel in its own right and they are new characters.

The ending is open, this is not the last book and it is building to something big, whilst there is enough resolved for you to feel it is an ending there are still open questions to lead us into the next story. The main question for me is... what about those blood spots?

A fun, sexy, laugh out loud book, perfect for a summer read, has enough umpf for you do be able to ignore the kids upending someone off a lilo, but generally it is easy enough to follow so you can put it down and go for a swim (some bits I did have to reread after putting the book down, but they were not a huge amount). Just don't expect lost of sex, it has sexy scenes but the main sex scene is towards the end of the book and it has an interesting twist!

Sexy summer fun I give it 3.5 frilly bikini bottoms out of 5. A minxy summer read.

This a book I have had for a while and only just got round to reading (I really must get through my TBR pile) I actually started reading it over 2 weeks ago and it has taken me this long to read. Why? Nothing to do with the book and more to do with altered deadlines for reports which interrupted me. So what about the book? This is my first venture into the Steampunk world and I enjoyed it. The premise is that Jack Fletcher and his sister Hallie and zapped into the world of Octavia Pye, an airship captain. But Octavia has secrets of her own, some of which are revealed in the book and some which aren't. Whilst this is the story of Octavia and Jack this has an overarching story which would connect future novels.

So what did I think? I liked it... I loved the characters... I loved the steampunk settings... the corsets... Jack's obsession with goggles... so why only like? The chapters are written alternately in the voice of either Jack or Octavia, I actually love dual narratives, however due to my circumstances and drawing out out reading it I kept having to think, OK who is telling this chapter. But that is my foible and I actually read the second half of the book yesterday and the dual narrative had no impact on my enjoyment of the story. What it did mean was that I had an insight into the feelings and fears of both characters.

Is it sexy? Yes! The sexual bantering and bristling between Jack and Octavia is fun, and when they finally get it together oh baby! I want to be Octavia Pye! I particularly enjoyed one scene in a secret passage way, the absurdity of it and the events which preceded it and followed it made it all the more fun, or intriguing and hot.

It is a book where everything that can go wrong will and that makes for a very interesting plot full of twists and turns, some of which you can guess, others which you can't!

A good book, interesting concept, interesting and mad cap characters, the cook who is obsessed with romancing Octavia is particularly fun, as is the disappearing Mr Llama! Perfect for a summer read!

I give this book 4 panties out of 5 a frilly panty read! Or as I am recommending it as a summer fun read, a frilly bikini bottom read!

For any of you who have never heard of Immodesty Blaize she is most famous for being a burlesque performer and when I saw her talking about her book Tease on Paul O'Grady's show a while ago I also knew that one day I was going to have to locate it, buy it and read it. I mean, corsets, scandal secrets, murder and mystery and burlesque... how could a Minx resist?!

The title tease links directly to the idea of burlesque, it is all in the tease, and the book does just that. The characters are over the top and adorable, just what you would expect in a world where jewelled nipple tassels are this seasons must have. Tiger Starr is a complex character with many secrets, the most obvious being her on stage persona is not really her and dealing with people who believe it is. As we read the book we discover the real Tiger. We watch helpless as she receives pink notes threatening her, we watch her life and relationships fall apart in private as she paints on a crimson smile and goes to greet her audience, we hope that she finds the love she deserves, we gasp as the teases of her past become clear and we sympathise with her. When an attempt is made on her life... we fear for her safety. Just exactly who is trying to destroy her and why?

This is a good book by an amazing burlesque star (that is the only way I can describe Blaize's persona- she makes me want to put on my tassells and shimmy) and a new writer. The book has been dubbed a bonk-buster, and yes in some ways it is, Tiger enjoys sex and doesn't hold back, however this is more than an erotic novel, it is a sexy thriller. The plot is intriguing and fast paced, the notes and chapters written by her nameless stalker create tension, the characters are larger than life, and yes unbelievable in a real context, but this isn't a real world, this is showbiz dahrling! Tiger is strong with a personality which tugs at your heart strings, the secondary characters are interesting so much so you want to slap them sometimes! Yes I do get very excited about books.... *blushes*

I also like the written style, Immodesty Blaize has a true storytelling narrative, giving emotion and description in a conversational way which is very appealing in a summer read. I read the hardback which is pictured above, but it is now out in paperback.

This is a really fun book, I was lucky enough to read an ARC copy of it, my review is below!

Something different from the sisters Price, not different in the sense it completely deviates from their style or their character arcs but in the sense this book was completely romantic, and I enjoyed it.

It had a leisurely pace which suited the story arc and the subtly of the characters, although subtle is perhaps not the right work for Dante, on first impression he has the subtlety of a sledge hammer. However much like his demon fire the heat and harshness is on the outside, as Xxieda (Zi-ee-dah) says he is a nice guy, and sorry Dante, once someone gets into your heart, you are! Live with it!

Apologies... I seem to have got into ramble mode. The characters of X and Dante are engaging as are the side characters, we meet Feyd again (raawr) and Ash who helps X underwear shop, and we are introduced to a group of new characters, Peyton X's sister and seemingly her man guru when needed, even though they only talk on the phone they seem to have a real sisterly relationship, Rhys (rawwr) X's alocholic best friend and rock singer, he is forever in trouble and getting over the death of is fiance, I hear he has his own book coming up, (he is a powerful medium) we also briefly meet Winter and Lysandra, Winter a member of the band and twin of Rhys's dead fiance, Lysandra Rhys's body guard who hints at being some kind of were- I could be wrong.

For those who might be concerned with the the fact that she is a virgin who suddenly turns into a harlot and seduces her man, don't the whole thing is handled sensibly and sensitively. Xxieda's attempts at flirtation is fun, and usually ends in violence, she is no wilting violet. Dante insults her the first time he sees her, so she pours coffee in his crotch. Sounds good to me!

An interesting and romantic novella, I give it 3.5 pink knickers out of 5. A frilly panty read.

I wasn't sure if i'd like this book, a girl in the lead role and a succubus, that could only mean one thing, she would be a ho and boring to read about. Most girl lead roles turn out that way,disappointingly, and i find i can't read about them without wanting to claw my own eyes out.

BUT! Georgina Kincaid does not have the *CoughAnitaFactorCough* is a succubus like no other i've read before, yeah she sexes and corrupts guys to feed her their life force, but she's not all evil in the regular demon sense, she seems to have some morals and it's pretty sad she can't have a meaningful lasting relationship with anyone, 'cause yeah they get pretty dead if she sucks too much of them.

Aaaand Cue two guys Georgina likes!

Just when i thought i had a handle on this light hearted Urban Fantasy Succubus book, the author gave me a squick moment, i should have seen it coming really, hello Georgina IS a Succubus and needs to feed from the life force of men, but my romantic heart thought once she'd met Seth/Roman she wouldn't boff other men..her riding on her bosses lap in his office..Squick!

My over-all thoughts on the book, good storyline, good secondary characters, a likeable albeit weird succubus heroine and a series i think i will enjoy more each book.

Roman and Seth, the sexy and the geek. I liked them both, but i fell more in the Geek camp, Seth is just too cute...and he writes books, i had to love him more! I kind of felt though, as i do with most heroines who have more than one love interest she 'loves-the-one-shes-with-at-the-time' there is twists and turns with this love triangle, things i didn't expect and it makes me wonder what's in store for book two! Having known many fan girly squeal moments over authors and books, it was funny to see Georgina be that way over writer Seth, she truly geeked out over his books, a nice contrast to the demon that she is.

I liked some of the secondary characters, Carter...is he really a good angel? he's very mysterious, someone that secretive HAS to be EVOL right?! It gave me a giggle that good and evil were all pally together.

I give Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead 3.5 out of 5.

Set in a parallel Mageverse Arthur and his knights and Maja protect the human real from all kinds of demons and beasties, helped by Dire Wolves, a couple of Dragons and Fey they strive to battle evil. Turned into Vampiric immortal warriors by a now absent Merlin and Nimue Arthur et al create a fun pack. To survive they must drink the blood of the maja, their female equivalent who require sex and blood release to survive. It is a FUN symbiotic relationship. Sadly my poor explanation does not do it justice."

And I was justified to be excited!

After the first chapter(s) I was hooked, Giada was innocently charming but certainly packed a punch, Logan had the honourability of an Arthurian knight but was his own man. They suited each other very well and that made the book flow nicely,Logan has resisted the change for so long; he has his own reasons which we discover in the book, Arthur and Gwen don't want to lose another son, they want him to change... and Gwen knows Giada will be perfect for her son! Mwahahaaaaa! They both try to resist, but with the help of Morgana and Smoke they have no chance, and the are HOT together. Whilst Giada and Logan getting together is the over-riding theme the assassin plot is intriguing and fast paced. I loved how the plot twisted and turned, the hunt for the plot and those behind the assinations... and this is only the beginning.

The book also introduced the character of Smoke, and I love Smoke... he is so cute in cat form! But he doesn't stay that way and is integral to the plot, the next book Master of Smoke is all about him. If you want a fun, sometimes funny, downright sexy book with a killer and mysterious plot (literally, as someone is trying to kill him) then this book could be for you. If you have not read any of them, please try them, I can not recommend them highly enough.

I do consider myself lucky that I was in Borders with my friend L and she pointed to the book Succubus Blues and said 'That one is quite good,' from L that is like a spotlight and magical music; so I bought it... and loved it. So why am I lucky? Because I have had the joy of this series for a couple of years and if you have not met Georgina and her friends then you must!

Why does this series work? It is a curious question I have set myself because much of the series revolves around a will they won't they HEA plot between Georgie and Seth, more off than on this plot of unrequited love is a constant which connects the books together, each novel having it own storyline which runs its course in the book. You know what I mean. Alongside this you have a host of human, demon and heavenly characters who make Georgie's world most entertaining!

I really enjoyed this book, it is another read which managed to get me through cramps... perhaps that should be a new rating-'better than purple pills'-?? But it is true, life made it difficult for me to start to read the book, a couple of pages here, a couple there, but I was soon hooked and pulled into the story. What was haunting Georgie? Would she be able to help Maddie with the wedding to Seth? Would I cry? Almost!

At the beginning of the novel Georgina's romance with Seth is over, after their affair, Seth has proposed to Maggie and she has accepted. However other than for Georgina's supernatural friends and Seth's family, no-one knows about their romance. SO Maggie assumes her best friend will be her bridesmaid and help her plan the wedding. If this wasn't torture enough Georgie is being stalked by something, and there is a new succubus in town.

The plot is engaging, as are the characters and their dilemas. The question of Georgina's contract appears again, this time with a new twist to link to the next novel, we are also left with questions about Seth and his relationship to Georgina. I would say more but I would spoil it... yes I know I am rambling but my mind is so full of questions I want answering and I love it!!!

One of the things I feel is nice about this book is we find out more about Roman, Georgina's once lover and sociopathic room-mate, perhaps he does have a heart after all. I must admit he is one of my favourite side characters along with Carter the irreverent angel. All I can say is... if you have not read this series before, give it a go. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Another book in this series which I liked, once you get through the prologue the novel itself begins with "Munro, you daft git pass the ball!" made me laugh and I kept on chuckling. The story runs concurrently with A Hunger Like No Other, so in the early point of the book it does tackle the same storyline of Lachlain and Emma, either from a differet angle, or it is glossed over as exposition. It is a small portion of the novel and in a way it was nice to recap what had gone on before, it was certainly nice to see Lachlain and Emma again, Bowen even makes a cameo.

Gareth is strong and determined, like the lykae we have met before, he does not hide the fact that before his brother vanished he had a bit of a murky past which earned him the title of Dark Prince. He does however seem more restrained than the others, this is hinted at when he refused to become king after his brother's supposed death. This control makes for a very interesting make and a doubly interesting read. Lucia is equally determined and hiding many secrets, her BFF Regin the Radiant knows most of them but not all, to win her Gareth has to fight her fear, prejudices and her secrets. And they are good ones!

I really enjoyed the interplay between both of them, they make their interest in each other very clear and build on it like smoldering embers and the sexy scenes in the book are smouldering.

Backed up by engaging secondary characters this book creates a solid plot full of secrets, mistrust and twists. It is also building an overreaching story arc, whilst we have a finite ending for this tale, there are open questions leading us into the next book out in August. Since I thoroughly enjoyed it all I can say is bring on the ascension!

A throughly good read! I give it 4 pink panties out of 5. A damp panty read!
